Hello again guys.

 

All we know that there is a port of XBMC/KODI for Vu+ receivers and its limitations of 720p max resolution, internal player not working, external player is too limited.

 

Since i am interested to develop an extension that works inside enigma2 and that will be deeply integrated to the enigma2 instead of using external app like Kodi i have several questions:

 

1. I know about skinning capabilities of recent images however i was wondering can the main menu be horizontal and is it possible to be customized for what it shows in there?

 

2. Is it possible and if it is how i can add a context menus similar to the Kodi item context menu?

 

3. Vu+ receivers have OpenGLES support so can python extension take advantage from this to speed up UI rendering?

 

4. Can infobar be modified somehow to support such an extension and to write its progress to own DB similar like Kodi does?

 

5. How can be made a custom player (probably like python extension or something) with hardware support ofcource?

 

 

I know there is similar extension called Project Valerie which was long time ago abandoned and it was behave a bit like something external that i dont like. So i want something much more integrated but not so general like Kodi.

 

 

So please anyone to give me hand for this if possible! I will be glad.

Also plugin KodiDirect allows the direct use of Kodi video addons in enigma2.

I'd like to ask is the plugin fully functional at its current state? And is it need to still modify the Menu.py so to support stable icons positioning?

I am build kodi 16.1 in my solo2.Work is fine.Internal player work in software mode,external player work in hardware mode.

I did tried 16.1 but it works leggy and is limited to 720p. Also the external player can not communicate with kodi db so it doesn't know the percentage watched.
Is it same to you?

When you watch the movie and for example you watch it half usually kodi log this and show partial watched marker. Kodi store this for this movie in its internal database so to be able to resume the movie from last watched location. With the external player it immediately marks the movie as fully watched so next time the movie is played it starts again from beginning. There seems to be not proper communication between kodi and external player. As well as that external player doesn't support chapter display.

Hi,

GUI of Kodi is limited to 720p but as soon as a movie is played 1080p is supportted. With the gstreamer 1.9 test image chapter support is included.

Which is gstreamer 1.9 test image?

Also i know UI is limited to 720p however i am curious if the main enigma2 skin is 1080p it appears the KODI UI also become scaled to 1080P. Am i right or it just look like this?

By the way is it possible that external player KODI uses by default to be skinned? Since it appears to show up very very minimalistic.
