But will the Uno4K now be able to record or not without the pau binary?

As Erik suggested to just try it but I have no Uno4K so it keeps a mistery for me at the moment... tell tell..... :D

Sorry I press the wrong RED button , UNO4k really could record when press the bottom red button.

Pau is not included in openpli because this a plug-in that helps manufacturers to work a rond customs duties.

NO! Pau is not included because it isn't required on the Uno4k!

I am sure that when I first tested VU+ Uno 4K, with original VU+ image, it couldn't stream or record. Then I installed OpenATV 5.3 and it could stream and record. pau binary was inside OpenATV's image. I removed it, power cycled the box and it couldn't record or stream.

Now it does record and stream without pau, with OpenPLi or OpenATV or Blackhole and other images I tested. Haven't tried to flash again original VU+ image. Is it possible that a driver update made pau usage obsolete? Maybe at first VU+ intended to go the "Zapper" path again, but in the process they changed mind?

That may very well the case. We will never know I guess.

I have a question anout Uno 4K SE

It has a pluggable dual FBC tuner, correct?

At the moment I have a legacy twin LNB and a twin tuner (ET9000). The system enables me to watch and record any 2 different channels from the same satellite and even more if only 2 quadrants are used.

Will it work the same way if I put my 2 cables into the dual tuner of Uno 4K SE? Will I be able to watch and record any combination of channels from different quadrants (HL, VL, HH, VH)?

Thanks for enlightening me.

un4k works fine with the 2 cable on a twin LNB

I ´ve the same Situation with uno4kse.

You are able to receive channels from 8 different transponders over 2 of the 4 quadrants at the same time, not only two transponders as in the et9000.

Your have more flexibility if you use unicable because than you can receive 8 different transponders at the same time over all quadrants

if you use uno4kse please read the following thread about hdd performance with uno4kse which I have solves with changing the I/O scheduler for the hdd

For using unicable you must change your legacy LNB into a unicable LNB for 8 or more Tuners/Users

One thing about the 2,5 inch hdd you are able to install inside the uno4kse. The maximum hight of the drive ist 10mm. So not all 2,5 inch drives are possible to install in the push loading drawer from the backside. If you would like to user drives with more capacity you must do handicraft but it maybe than a heating problem.

from my knowledge today the maximum capacity it 2TB for example with seagate drives

Thanks for all the info. I will not be moving to Unicable LNB's yet. I just needed confirmation the box will work with a legacy twin LNB no worse than now.
