Hi Everyone, about a week ago, while I was watching a Mp4 movie and having timer recording at the same time, the Stb restarted automatically. Thinking it must be an old PLi image which I have not do any upgrade for the past 4 months I guess. So I do an upgrade immediately. But it didn’t help, I realized this only after my returned from travelling last Friday. Since then I have been doing image upgrading almost every day. But the auto restart still occur. As for today, I found the VPS was turn-on, wondering if this is the culprit, I turn it off immediately.

Another issue is the feature of “Rename name and description for new events” in Timer recording, which is unstable, sometimes it changes the name but sometimes it didn’t. Please help.

Thanks very much!

Sounds like a GSOD... post the crashlog from the GSOD here and we see why it might restart... And the symptoms you mention give me a feeling your flash is full.... telnet and show a result of 'df' here...

Hi Littlesat, thanks very much for the quick reply!

I went to look at the root folder and didn’t find any, try in harddisk too but also didn’t find any recent cash log, only have in Nov 2016. I guess had to turn-on the log feature to get this. I will post this immediately once I could obtain one.

Best Regards

Hi Everyone, could someone tell me how to turn-on the crash log? I had search everywhere but could not find.

By the way, what does "GSOD" mean?

Thanks very much

Green screen of death, crash log is generated when your box crashes. Please login with telnet or ssh and check with df or df -h for disk space problems.

When play .mp4  then why there is a memory leak.

Connect swap(simple use Swap plugin) and check.

I think it will solve all the problems.

Hi Everyone

I had installed the Swap Plugin and set it in Hdd at a size of 64Mb. I tried opening it with Notepad++, but can’t read anything out of it. I had also flash with a new OpenPLi image before installing the Swap Plugin. What should I do next, please advise?

Thanks very much!

Hi Dimitrij, thanks very much for the quick reply!

I had already done that. Does it tell us what is happening when there is a fault? Am I supposed to read it? If so, how?

Very sorry for being so long winded, I just wanted to learn more.

Thanks again!

Hi Everyone, it happens again when I begin watching a recorded show and having regular timer recording at the same time. It restarted 3 times and I got no choice but quickly do a software update, after this it seem good and didn’t restart anymore. But very sadly, the recorded shows were badly done.

Please help!

What receiver? et10000? I think I've seen similar reports for this receiver.

Can't say I have that problem on my 10K, which often has all 4 tuners active (as I am an avid autotimer user ;)).

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.
