I don't have one. I've only seen this on a VU Duo, with a dying power supply.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I've not heard of dodgy power supplies on the et10k, but we've seen other xtrend models just like the duo, which is notorious for this issue.

Thanks WanWizard & Erik Slagter for your quick reply!

Is there anyway to solve this issue?

In fact after a careful thought, my Vu+Duo2 is also experiencing fault, it just freeze by itself. And the worst of all is it freezes during a timer recording. And if I remember correctly, 3 days ago i experience this again which cause disruption to my timer recording. Only after doing a software upgrade then it will work fine.

Is there a plugin that will automatically make it restart when it freezes?

Please help!

No, but you can make a cron script that reboots the receiver every day, which may mitigate the problem.

Hi Erik, thanks very much for the advice!

Could you teach how to write this script, say if the reboot is at 1645 hours daily?

Best Regards

Ok, thanks very much.

Thinking back on the earlier replies. Was the problem due to a defective power supply of both the Et10k and Vu+Duo2?

Since the last time whereby the Stb become unstable, I felt whenever there is any update on plugin such as, Iptv Player, Kodi or TSmedia, I will need to complete by doing an image upgrade so Stb will not become unstable.

Last night, when to Iptv Player and it requested to do an update. After updating and restart, I do a software upgrade on OpenPLi image. Follow-up with a restart, then comes the following error,

1.       Openwebif – not found

2.       OpenMultiboot – not found

3.       Harddisk not in movie – most critical

a.       when to depress, movie button (list), nothing found, which I have many folders and movies

b.      Dream Explorer- can’t find Hdd

c.       Mount Manager- Hdd is Mounted

I was shock and puzzle!

What is happening?

Please Help!

Thanks Dimitrij, I did.

All Masters from PLi, please do something about it as the recent images are getting very unstable. I do not use any Cam, strictly only timer recording for Tv Series.

I had been using for quite some time and it had been very stable and reliable. In fact I find it is the best image around. Please help!

Thanks very much!

As you might have learned, we have had difficulties with our build process. These difficulties have now been resolved. This does mean, though, that you need to flash, once.

Hi Erik, thanks for the info.

I was thinking, in the software upgrade menu, the auto upgrade process may be doing the latest but it may be in beta version and not confirm stable. So could we have an alternative to choose any of the last 3 upgrade? Therefore when we have done the latest upgrade and find it unstable, we could easily do another upgrade to a much lower version. Isn’t this more practical?

Best Regards

That's what the warning "do not flash, known problems" message is for.

In my situation is difference, the Stb became unstable and restarted by itself all out of a sudden while I was watching recorded show and having timer recording at the same time. I had no other choice but to do an upgrade of the image, and it help. I find this happen when there is an upgrade done to any of the plugins such as Kodi, Iptv player. So whenever there is an upgrade to any plugin, I will do an upgrade to the image. And so this fault did not occur any more.

Please help!

Kodi and IPtv player are not maintained by us, use on your own risk.

Agree, I am not blaming anyone for the fault, as I understand, we are all humans and we make mistake. In fact I am very grateful to you guys (all Masters of OpenPLi) for creating such an awesome image, if only images for Dm7020Hdv2 is also created, it well be perfect, well, only wishing.

You see, the end issue still comes back to the “software upgrade”, once a while we will do a software upgrade and if any of this time the image is unstable, we are in trouble.

My only free time to watch my recorded series is also the time where timer recording is actively running. So if the Stb becomes unstable, I can quickly install a lower version of the upgrade if there is a provision for the latest 3 upgraded images. If not, I have turn-on my Pc which takes years to startup and still needs to,

1.       Open internet browser ( which is very slow to completely open

2.       Login to OpenPLi website

3.       Search for correct version of images and download

4.       Transfer to flashdrive

5.       Flashdrive connect to Stb and install image

All this takes up a lot of my time, and the timer recordings will miss a big part of the story which would make anyone very sad.

Please Help!

Met mijn VU 4K kon ik opeens niet meer opnemen en verscheen een groen beeld met de volgend onderstaande melding..

Your STB encountered a software problem and needs to be restarted Please send the logfile /media/hdd/enigma2_crash_1636394701.log to forum at www.openpli.org

Your STB restarts in 10 seconds!

Component: Enigma2

Daarna nog een aantal regels etc.

Dan zouden we het fijn vinden als je de logfile /media/hdd/enigma2_crash_1636394701.log van je box af haalt, en hier als bijlage plaatst.
