I've never seen one not working.. so the problem is not compatibility as such as the performance. I've seen many simply not working well.. the cheap ones are freezing on some HD channels

so which one are you looking at?

I have had many problems with sky digital key avermedia a867 led blu.

Now, I would buy the August DVB-T 202 but first I want to be sure that it works with OpenPli.

The correct question is not "which USB stick" is supported "by OpenPLi", but "which IC (chip)" is supported "by the kernel that the manufacturer of my receiver ships".

Don't do it. Use a pluggable DVB T tuner.

I had a Sundtek HVDBT-0203 before I bought Vu+ a couple of months ago and it worked great.

I actually had it for having two DVB-C tuners, but can't see why it wouldn't be the same great quality for DVB-T.

It seems to me that it depends on that, what box you have.

For DM is Sundtek very good. I have one redundant WandTV DVB-T, which works well, but it does not handle the DVB-T2. Drivers dvb-usb-it913x exsists on PLi server for the WandTV DVB-T. If you are interested in it, send a PM.

PLUGGABLE means NO USB.

All the previous answer remains true,

Why do you associated OpenPLi 6.2 with kernel 4.10?  There is no link between OpenPLi version and kernel version, I have a VU+ Solo4K running OpenPLi 6.2 and my kernel version is Linux vusolo4k 3.14.28-1.8

The kernel version is fixed by the manufacturer of the STB in its BSP, not by OpenPLi version. Some manufacturers update regularly the kernel other doesn't.

When you choose a STB if you know that you will need DVB-T(2) or DVB-C or whatever go for a model with build-in or pluggable tuner, so they are supported officially by the box manufacturer.

USB tuner is a kind a lottery even the same brand, same reference can use different chipset so it is very hard to advice for sure working USB tuner.

But I have to say that Sundtek is more expensive and "closed source" but they provide a nice and efficient support.

OK thank's a lot, so i resume Openpli 6.2 is not the kernel, it depends of the manufacturer ( my HD51 is 4.10.12 so i am lucky )

And USB tuner is complexe to have the good drivers good device , we must prefer integred tuner.

http://sundtek.com/s...o-AnalogTV.html

are the most support device.

OpenPLi is a linux kernel + platform drivers + an OpenEmbedded (Yocto) distribution + OpenpLi Enigma2 + plugins.

The platform drivers come from the manufacturer, in binary form, and they dictate the kernel version to use.

USB tuners are not kernel devices but user-space devices, which process everything (the entire transponder) in software. That makes it complex, requires a lot of CPU, and integration may be flaky.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

flaky is best translated as unreliable.

What exactly model is it ? -> https://www.linuxtv....strometa_DVB-T2

Connect via Telnet / SSH to your box (command-line / Shell) and check availability:

opkg update
opkg list | grep rtl2832

Of course, compatibility is not guaranteed, due to possible different upgrades of the firmware in USB chipsets and so on. The purchased USB DVB devices can also be identified by USB IDs (when connected to the box, there is another command in Shell).

No quite true. My et8000 was on kernel 4.01 up until it was changed to Kernel 4.10 in recent images 6.2rc & 6.2 release.

The Astrometa DVB-T2 usb tuner is now working as T2 on kernel 4.10 with a few tweaks (frontend swap) from (Realtek RTL2832 DVB-T)  to (Panasonic MN88473 DVB-T2)

That is more because the kernel update in the BSP coincided with the OpenPLi version update.

There is a link between an OpenPLi major release and the Yocto release used, there is no link between OpenPLi and the kernel version, as the manufacturer dictates the kernel version in the BSP, and that can change at any moment.

Does that mean that the current build of OpenPli-4 is also on kernel 4.10 (et8000) ?
