Hi Happy new year everyone!!!

Ok I have recently moved house and need to setup my sat again but its been a long time since I did it Ive forgot!!!!.

Here goes
I have a vu duo 2 on a single 80cm dish with 2 LNB's (Astra 28 and Hotbird 13)
My receiver has a twin tuner, so I want Hotbird on tuner B single output LNB and Astra on tuner A twin LNB.
Im struggling with the settings in the tuner config, I have a diseqc switch but I cannot get it ti switch.
Everything is tuned in and working so I know I don't have a faulty switch etc.

Many thanks

Just to be sure I understand you correctly:

- you have a 2-1 diseqc switch, connected to the Hotbird LNB and one outlook of the Astra twin LNB, connected to tuner B

- the single remaining output of the Astra twin LNB directly connected to tuner A, without a switch

Correct?

Ok,

Tuner A: simple configuration, Single mode, and then configure Astra as the satellite.

Tuner B: simple configuration, DiseqC A/B mode, and then configure port A and B for the correct LNB.

This should be it.

Hi WanWizard

I'm thinking of adding another LNB 19.2

how would the settings be if I had 13 and 19.2 on tuner B ( guess no change from above only sat to change), and 28 on tuner A with twin LNB with diseqc (is it possible)?

Thanks

13 and 19.2 on tuner B, with a 2-1 DiseqC switch, is configured using Simple, mode DiseqC A/B.

If you want to add 19.2 to tuner A (and with that go to 3 LNB's for that tuner), you need to swap your 2-1 switch by a 4-1 switch, and your config to Simple, mode DiseqC A/B/C/D. Don't forget to put a dummy plug on the 4th output to make that watertight. In your config, port D is then configured as "not connected".

Maybe it is better that you define your exact plan, in a way I did above, 'cause I don't know what you want to do...

Ok I'll try
I will have 3 lnb's, single for 13, single for 19.2, and a twin for 28.2.
I will put 13 and 19.2 on a switch and into tuner A.

I would like to if possible? put my twin LNB 28.2 on a switch and to tuner B (record and watch at same time)
Thanks

You want to put both outputs of the twin via a switch on the same tuner?

Probably possible, but quite pointless. If the tuner is in use, it will block access to the other output, so you'll never use the second.

It would be more logical to upgrade your 2-1 switch to a 4-1 switch, and connect 19.2 to it. So what I described in post #8. You will then be able to have 28.2 on both tuners, and if you start a recording on 28.2, the box will automatically use the tuner that only has 28.2, so you still have all three positions free for viewing.
