I assume you updated a very long time ago. In that case I can imagine the box is stuck. As we really aren't fortune tellers and you haven't supplied any additional information my suggestion would be to flash the box again and hope for the best. But I guess it will work after a full fresh flash. ;)

Can you connect via telnet? If yes, search for crash logs.

Not sure if you really mean a 1TB USB device, but I suggest you find something smaller. In general, the older and smaller, the better.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Stick has to be formatted with FAT32. NTFS don't work.

Are other USB devices attached? Remove them. If the box has more USB slots, try all of them.

Can you see the box in the router menu. So maybe box has unexpected IP.

Maybe the box was updating a picon set, this can take sometimes a very long time so it looks like the box is hanging?

Do you have picons installed which you downloaded from the feed?

ET4000 has only 128MB Flash memory. You need approximately 20MB of free memory if you have not updated for a long time. Otherwise update might not complete and problems can occur.
