Hello!

I am longtime user of OpenPli but new to this community because never had any real problems with my units.

We have two units running in our house and could earlier mount them crosswise for viewing and recording.

Can still successfully mount VUSOLO from XT9200 but since ~two weeks I cannot mount XT9200 from VUSOLO.

Same set of plugins used in both.

Tried several times to unistall/install NetworkBrowser plugin without success.

Vusolo:

OE system: PLi-OE Firmware version: OpenPLi 4.0 (2017-01-08) Kernel / Driver versions: 3.9.6 / 3.9.6+20151124-r0.4

Xtrend:

OE system: PLi-OE Firmware version: OpenPLi 4.0 (2017-01-06) Kernel / Driver versions: 3.8.7 / 3.8.7+20130524-r0.2

Because of the trouble I have updated both lately but without success.

I am familiar to Telnet but need your kind guidance on commands to reload/faultsearching "behind the scenes".

How do I restore the mounts?

Thanks

Bootheflyer

Clarification to above..

I can mount both units and see folders/files individually from a PC.

But when browsing Vusolo media/net to xtrend it does not work (same problem as mounting fm vusolo)

Suspect VUSOLO has the problem.

You may need to add "sec=ntlm" to the mount options. Newer kernels have a more security authentication protocol as default.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

It is not a global setting, whether you need to use it or not depends on the box you connect to.

So it could well be that from XT9200 -> VUSOLO you need it, but from VUSOLO -> XT9200 you don't. And I assume you have remounted after you made the changes?

Thanks!
Yes I have

Seems bit strange.. I have these units several years already working fine and suddenly this happens..
Anything related to recent update or so seems more credible.

It has been a security related change in the linux kernel, they switched the default CIFS authentication protocol from ntlm to ntlmv2.

Some boxes run a kernel with this change, some don't. Not something we can do anything about, the manufacturer dictates the kernel version to be used on a particular model.

So if you connect from a "new" kernel to an "old" kernel, you now have to specify the protocol in the mount options to make sure the correct one is used.

It could have been caused by a full flash (timeshift) and after a reboot some file/s are corrupt.
Suspect that some plugins needs reinstalling (cannot reimage).
I have reinstalled networkbrowser but without success.. what else influences?
vusolo is all else OK.

HI WW

Thanks much appreciated!
How can i switch btw nrlm and ntlmv2?
I am a novice in telnet but know how to access and type commands..

Thanks in advance.

Still puzzled why this happened suddenly and worked earlier for long time!

What do you mean by switch? If you mean "change the default", the answer is you can't. It is in the code.

And it probably worked until you did an update.

So are we at a dead end?
Or is there any suggestion of workaround?

You can specify "sec=ntlm" in the mount options in the network browser.

I would propose to mount it manually via telnet. Then you can see error messages.

Hello! Appreciate your reply, thanks.

Forgive a layman; can you please help me and write a Telnet command?

I know how to access my box via telnet but unused to write commands..

IP: 192.168.1.181 and I want to mount:  /media/net

Thanks for the "sec=ntlm" string suggestion.

I have added "sec-ntlm" in the mount instruction via the remote control in the skin (see earlier picture in this thread). No change or fix..

Is this also a Telnet command assembly or how shall this be entered?

Pls give an example.
