Hello,

I know it's been asked before, but I'm just writing this out of curiosity.

I understand that currently, ACM/VCM is not supported by these new FBC tuners. However, according to my understanding, the FBC tuner works like an SDR, sampling the whole 950-2150 band and is using 4 software based demodulators to tune into transponders. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

Assuming all this, in theory any modulation could be supported, including said ACM/VCM. My question is that modification of the firmware is possible to add these features in the future, or the tuner firmware is closed source and is only updated by the manufacturer?

Thanks for your answer.

We would need to have access to the firmware of the FBC tuners and access to the api layer between hardware and kernel (aka "the drivers"). None of them is true and will never happen.
