1) Use the _usb.zip file and flash with a usb stick.
2) Download the other image. Put it on the box (on an attached usb stick or harddisk) and flash it via flash image in E2. There you can decide into which “slot” (multiboot partition) you want to install the image.
3) All 4 images are in the flash. You don’t need to attach a USB stick to use the 4 images.

For me the multiboot feature is one of the most important differentiators on a receiver ... I get sick and tired of trying to fix issues with users unable to usb flash their receivers ..... at least with multiboot you can keep a safe useable image and flash another Image to one of the other partitions......... and at worst you can use ftp to manually change the image booted by copying STARTUP_x to STARTUP in the Boot directory.
At least OpenPli has accepted that this is a good feature ... unlike some images.

When do you think it will become possible to flash the other 3 images using the OpenPLi built-in flash utility?

Thank you.

Sorry, getting confused .... (forgot I had added code to allow other online libs and local files to be accessed)

Menu,setup, Flash Image

Choose Image

Hit Flash button (green button) and choose the STARTUP you want and the bootmode options

I'm afraid there is still something missing and I am not able to choose any other image than OpenPLI images from the feed.

See the screenshot please.

How can I choose an image from a USB?

On my USB I have the following:

- openatv-6.1-mutant51-20180222_usb.zip (file)

- hd51 (folder) containing disk.img, imageversion, kernel.bin and rootfs.tar.bz2 files.

Perhaps there is someting else that I should place on my USB for the Flash Utility to see it?

Unfortunately that is the current status ... sorry if I confused the situation yesterday ..... until code is added to flash local sources, you are left with flashing another image 1st (like OpenATV) and then flashing OpenPli ...using the multiboot restart option to return to another image.
Because I have both a HD51 and Giga4K (not handled by the current OpenPli flashing code), I just added the code to do what you want - which is why I ended up confusing the issue -forgot that I had added it!!

OK, no problem waiting for me, unless there is no intention of adding the code to the stable image.

A developer should state whether this is planned or not.

Will flashing a different image using the FlashImage utility in the menu be available in OpenPLi 6.2 or not yet, please?

Afaik it’s already now working. On your hd51 currently you need to rename the zip file. It has to end with _multiboot.zip. And the zip file has to be in the root directory of your usb stick/harddisk or in a folder named downloaded_images.
In 6.2 you don’t have to rename the zip file any more.
