I have used about 15 hours today because of this. Watch the thread about errors. Nothing there. Reset the tuner 3-4 times, same problem. Searching for errors on my equipment, tried other images, and so on...

 

One word of advice, don't discard the disclaimer you got presented when you updated the first time. It contains some imported advise to create at least an Autobackup or even a full backup. In case of any mishap you don't have to spend 15 hours to recreate your image but at most 15 minutes or even in case of a full backup a minute or 2

 

 

Yesterday,

All those backups seemed a waste of pay.

Now my database has gone away.

Oh I believe in yesterday.

 

Suddenly,

There’s not half the files there used to be,

And there’s a deadline

hanging over me.

The system crashed so suddenly.

 

I pushed something wrong

What it was I could not say.

Now my data’s gone

and I long for yesterday-ay-ay-ay.

The need for back-ups seemed so far away.

Thought all my data was here to stay,

Mmmm... all vu+ image are now gone from the download site? So how could one download a working image (28th or earlier)...

Nope, problem with the connection between the webserver and the upload server, the available image list could not be retrieved.

The decoder is flashiing but it stay "Update complete " and doesn't reboot.

flashing 4 times with vplus image did the trick.

Afaik: we know what causes it (the busybox update), but I haven't seen a solution for it yet.

From what I understand, the update deletes /bin/sh, and without shell nothing works anymore...

Force the package to have the same version and PR (like the previous one)

It will stop from trying to update.

We have had a complete cleanup and have built all images and packages from scratch. This took a long time and finished yesterday evening. The next step is to FLASH the last image and it will probably be alright. Don't update!

@Eric, would that be the expination for 60+ online updates (et8000) ?

No, 27 updates for an et10k.

Yes. And how many updates depends on how corrupted the PR server was, it could be different from one box to the other.
