New receiver, should lack of support for DVB-S2X worry me?

My old box unexpectedly died, I am planning on buying a new receiver and I wanted to get a good one, but I have recently heard about DVB-S2X and I am worried that I will be wasting money since my receiver will likely be unusable when DVB-S2X comes (there's a small chance it will work as it has interchangeable tuners, but I can't count on that).
 
Is me worrying justified? Are we still a long time away before DVB-S2X gains track?
 
Please share your thoughts.

To elaborate further I'm basically wondering whether this is a smart time to plunge 400+ euros for a receiver or maybe I should buy a cheaper one and wait to see what comes out of the DVB-S2X standard.

Currently only sf4008(e2 box)supports dvb-s2x. This box is not supported by OpenPli. Mutant hd51 currently don't support it. But as I heard there will be tuners available in near future.
As long as only few hardware is out there which support the new standard I guess you won't get any problems. Currently I know only one astra test channel with dvb-s2x.

There only few test S2X channels.

Most people really care for other features that S2X includes, such as Multistream and APSK.

The OpenPLi 5 will include my multistream patches (already available on ATV and others) once ready for release.

My question wasn't about today but about the future. How long until current receivers become unusable? I know we can't know for sure, but it may be possible to make educated guesses.

My guess: Mainstream channels will not switch to dvb-s2x in the next 2-3 years. I mean something like ARD, ZDF in Germany.
If we speak about a "closed" system where provider says which receiver you have to use (something like Sky) it might be different. As they can exchange all receivers. But this will also take several months.

If you want to watch exotic channels or you are feed hunter you might need a dvb-s2x capable box earlier.

Experience learns that the majority of the channels are still SD, mpeg2 and on DVB-S. So there you go ;)
