Hi everybody
i'll like to give an access to a friend of mine, by creating a new user. I tested it, but the bad thing is that he'll have the same root permissions.
Any option to block the access to webif/system to that new user?
I've created it by "adduser username" command in putty.
Thanks ^^

Don't be ridiculous. Not everything beyond your vision is wan sharing by definition.
You know, that this considered Card-Sharing and illegal?? Any access outside your own LAN is handled over the WAN (internet) and is definately not allowed...
2 x vu+ultimo4k ((nb & 9.0r) dvb-c fbc + 1 dvb-s2) + een vu+duo4k ((nb) fallbackclient) met een Synology ds214+ (2 x 6 TB) op DSM 7.1.1 in ziggo oost (voormalig @Home) + A1/A2/A3/HB (TechniSat)

I don't realise that. In fact, it's only to see a program when i'll be at his home, and don't want to use my root pass out of my home for security purpose :-S
If it's a problem, I can delete my question...
Thanks

What would be the purpose of accessing the webinterface?

Apart from that: what's the fuss anyway... Take out your smartcard and temporarily insert it in your friend's box. Watch the program and when you want to return home, take out the card...

Again... If this friend's PC is at your home and in your own network it's perfectly allright. As stated earlier (just read) if you go to your friends house and consequently in another network, traffic goes over WAN and is not allowed..
So in your opinion, place shifting devices are illegal? You are completely wrong. Nothing like that is illegal, because there is no law stating such things. The content provider might have in their license agreement such terms, but a license agreement is not "the law". It is just a two party agreement. Even if someone signs it, a term could be judged as "unfair" and be cancelled in a court of law. For example, all EU content providers apply geo limitations in their contracts. However, the european court of justice have ruled this is unfair and all EU citizens should have access to such services. So guess who is breaking the law ...
