I have a VU+ Uno 4K and want to install the OpenPli 4.0 image downloaded from the download area.
I was waiting for the OpenPi to be fixed again. The download area mentioned an issue with this Vu+ Uno 4K image.
Yesterday, when I was checking the site, I saw the issue comment was removed and tried the latest build from 11 Feb 2017.
Unfortunately the same issue occured, long time waiting for the image to be installed looking at the light on the front slowly going on and off. (So no on/off blinking, which would be the sign to reboot).
Then I tried the image from the 10th and 12th, but the same issue.
I think I am doing the right thing; formatting the USB (32bit) and copy the entire (Unpacked) vruplus dir to the USB stick. Put the USB into the USB3.0 port on the side and turn on the Uno 4K device.
The same worked for installing the VTI image, which I am using now for 2 wks.
I believe the Openpli Image for the Vu+ Uno 4K is not working yet or I am doing something wrong.
Any info or advise is welcome, thanks!

The latest VU+ receivers are a bit "difficult" to flash. Sometimes you need to try multiple times in succession, write the directory structure again or use another stick.

Oh sorry,
I think I misunderstood, you mean, it doesn't matter which image I take, the difficulty lies in the new Uno 4k device.
If the latest images are tested and OK, I will try to use a different USB and multiple times first.
Still, I would like to try one of the older 'proven working" images as well, but couldn't find them in the download area.

I experiencing the same thing. Tried many times with different type of USB sticks (256 MB, 512 MB, 2GB) on different computers, so I also would like to try an old working release. VTi of BH are working right away.
I noticed that the OpenPLi images do not have the file "splash_auto.bin". I don't know if that is the problem.

Do not download our images from other websites ! It might not be an OpenPLi image (despite the name), and you are not sure what is inside it!
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Nothing we can do about it, if it doesn't recognize your USB stick.

I understand. But whether or not the bootloader of the box reads the USB stick is beyond our control, the bootloader is not a part of the image.

Like I said, the latest generation of VU+ receiver are quite "difficult" on what USB sticks can be used and often more than one attempt is necessary.

The same problem exists not only for me
OpenPLi today's software still can not load ...
And it is still the same problem we cannot fix for you, like explained.
