I have this bad feeling now all et9000 start to fail, like the duo's did two years ago.

This happens already for over one year with those models of Xtrend too.
Mijn schotel is een T90 met 10 LNB's. Daarnaast voor de fun nog een draaibaar systeem met een Triax TD 78.
Dreamboxen heb ik niet meer echt actief. Verder heb ik ook nog een een VU+ duo2 met 500Gb harddisk + een VU+ Uno, Zero, Solo 4K, Ultimo 4K, Zero 4K, Uno 4Kse. + ook nog een Xtrend ET7x00. Daarnaast heb ik ook nog diverse andere modellen w.o. een Formuler F4, ET8500, ET7500, Mut@nt 2400HD, Xsarius Fusion HD se en verder nog wel het e.e.a. waarmee op verzoek vanalles wordt getest. Iemand moet het tenslotte doen. 
Los van de eerder genoemde modellen heb ik nog wel een rits aan testsamples als Mut@nt 2400HD, HD60, GB UE4K, GB Trio4K, Maxitec Multibox combo en Twin, Octagon sf8008, sf8008 mini en last but nog least enkele modellen van het Grieks Duitse Edision.
Voor centrale opslag van media gebruik ik een Qnap 219P met tweemaal 2 Tb harddisks + een Synology DS414 met 12 Tb Totale opslag.

so you think witch one know is better,but not too expensive ( reciver model)

I guess there are several newer models that measure your standard. Depending the size of your wallet you can make a nice choice. Xtrend et7500, Mutant HD51 (UHD), Vu+ Solo2 and the cheaper range from for instance Miraclebox twin+ or Zgemma and some other brands not supported by OpenPLi.

what is the 'x' in your et9x00 model?
and what are e x a c t symptomps, when it refuses to start?
where the boot procedure stops/hangs:
on a bootsplash? openpli bootlogo? or maybe the blue LED just blinks couple of times and that's all?ET9000

This is typical from ET-9000 just open it up and look at capacitor, replace the bad ones and your ET-9000 will be alived. This has to be done by every owners of ET9000 that I know.
But if you want to change box, then read carefully the comparison between the different STB because some low cost are not capable to stream for exemple.

Don't get me started Or buying the very cheapest box they can get their hands on, then connect two USB tuners, also the cheapest available AND of course a "Wifi" stick, just as expensive, and then come wining here that "it doesn't work".

Hi there,
yesterday, after about 3,5 years of flawless operation, my et9500 suddenly refused to cooperate
after power cycling the device, blue LED just blinks 5 times and that's all...
did some research in the forum, and replaced elecrolitic capacitor on PSU, mentioned couple of times here as possible culprit (this yellow 4700u at the heat sink), unfortunately didn't help :-/
my colleague checked PSU using oscillator, everything seems to be ok,
nevertheless he sugested to eventually replace all capacitors on PSU just in case
I also checked battery on the security board - it's 3.3V...
so any hints? or only disposal remains to be done?
