Hello everyone.

 

the problem I am having is right there in the topic title.

 

I am very new to this, infact i was not the one to install the image on this box.

I'm the local techie so when things dont work they throw them at me, lol

 

It's a DM800 HD SE. or that's what it says on the side.

I thought I would try and reinstall the image, but when I check the dm800

installation guide it says to press some "down button on the side of the display"

which isnt actually there, so Im stumped.

 

Can anyone help me?

Just visit the Dream website on how to flash.

First check if you are working with an original box or (most likely) a clone.

If unsure:

Open the box and check the modem PCB. If this small PCB does not contain components (apart from the obvious RJ11 connector) its a clone. The SIM should be white with dot matrix like print A8P on it. Furthermore the SIM is stuck in rasin. Another color SIM or the abcense of any rasin. Again it's a clone. Does it have build-in WiFi? If yes, it's a clone

It has a wifi antenna on it. so I guess it's a clone.

Alright, I found out that a typo on the wiki was the sorce of my troubles,

Now i've tried flashing a new image to the box, and it seemed to go well

 

but now I get r01: No CA found

 

Did I break it?

It's definately a clone.
You did brick it. But with the correct firmware it can be revivec. Only 'problem' is that this will only work in serial mode. So you need extra items apart from the correct firmware for this box.

Alas clone support is a big 'no no' on this forum so you're on your own..

As a rule of thumb, if you own a clone never, never try to update/upgrade unless you are 100% sure it can be done..
