It seems to me that there is still room for three letters, total 22. It should be enough for everybody and this could be used as default in image. I am satisfied. If you wish I could try more, but look at picture.

Can you post the latest code you used for that line here?

I installed latest image morning.

@littlesat

Just after installation I checked how many tuners (letters) are visible. With font size 42 there are 18. When I used what I tried yesterday (font size 36) it must be surely 22. There is a possibility if needed not to change font size further but the width of font (different font type).

@WanWizard

You repaired problems according to recording but probably from the same time problems with streaming have appeared. I wrote that when streaming starts or when it stops screen always freezes. Sometimes receiver is even bricked, it is busy (rotating wheel).

At the moment, the absolute maximum amount of tuners possible is:

VU+ Ultimo4k

- 1 slot 8 FBC tuners C or S

- 1 slot 8 FBC tuners S

- 1 slot dual tuner C or S or T

- four USB tuners (vtuner devices)

makes 22 tuners in total. Which is quite insane if you ask me ;)

@WanWizard

I made another try. I flashed image backup from 20170310_0559. There is no problem with streaming!

Might be related to a tuner allocation issue, that is being worked on.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

1) we discused this item last a week ago. I expected that you could do some action but displaying of tuner letters stayed still the same. It means wrong. Is OpenPLI image DIY? There are 4 places concerning this in skin_display.xml. I changed font size in all four and it is OK. Somebody suggests that 22 tuners are insane. But Ultimo 4K allows it and it should be ready for such a possibility.

3) this item started with recording but it changed to streaming. Thanks, you solved these both but unfortunately quality of streaming HD is not good. It goes in waves, severel secons ok, several seconds shaky. I add that the same appears in Ultimo 4K and Solo 4K too. Solo2 does not have such a problem, streaming runs smoothly.

Hi Pr2,

I think you did not understand FBC fully. Even with only 1 cable and without unicable you still have 8 tuner. These tuner are bound to the first sat band in use but you still can record from up to 8 different transponder on this band. They are not disabled they are only not used at the moment.

ciao

Hi,

Do you have a box with FBC Tuner? Have you experienced it yourself?

I have a Solo4K with DVB-S2 FBC tuner on a non FBC compliant setup and the "virtual FBC tuner" are set to FBC automatic and are all displayed as Disabled by OpenPLi.

22 tuners is insane, that doesn't mean we shouldn't support it. My point is that there are currently no receivers that can use more than that amount of tuners, so that is what should be cathered for.

It's a skin issue, I am not from the "skin department", actually many skins are maintained by advanced users and the layout varies per skin anyway.

I think that it is not skin related but only OLED problem. I use for a long time skin which is not in OpenPLI repository. It has the same problem with displaying such a number of tuners, but creator of this skin promised to solve it soon. He prepares totally new version in which it should be incorporated. He did not already do necessary changes in old version which is going to be replaced soon.

I used Solo 4K but it did not allow me to support fully unicable switches which I have and to complete my intended configuration. That's why I bought Ultimo 4K. In fact to be honest I do not need such a number of tuners but once hardware of excellent Ultimo 4K supports them and I have them I would like to see them all. :)

Completely nonsense, we can control whatever what's shown on the LCD (no OLED!).

Also the SCR (Unicable/JESS) handling of both solo4k and ultimo4k is exactly the same. And I can tell from daily practice that it runs fine on both.
