It's very surprising that anybody at MTV haven't still noticed that MTV Music 24 and VH1 Classic signals on Astra 19E are being wrongly bradcasted,
Video signal is really 4:3, but 16:9 signal is active, so we have a very "beautifull" wide picture.

Probably some people did notice but didn't care to report. Viacom (MTV) and Discovery Networks have quite a bad name when it comes to correctly implementing DVB broadcast. All sorts of things are "wrong", not only this. Apparently they don't know or simply don't care.

On Thor 0.8w there are VH1 Classic in right format and them get signal from Astra 19.2e

No, Thor (0.8W) signal is not taken from Astra.
Thor signal is 720x576 and has a perfect picture quality, Astra is 544x576.
The "copy" signal cannot be better than the original, and I don't refer to resolution, I refer to picture quality.
Look both and compare.

thor is in 704X576 on VH1 classic and VH1 but on astra in 544X576 on both channel

edit: on vlc mediaplayer i get on both channel on thor are in 720X576 but on OSD in my box sey it are 704X576

0.8W and 4.8E are Discovery and Viacom feeds. So it's "a bit" more likely that Astra on 19.2E etc. copies from there than the other way around.

I don't really understand why MTV Music 24 is not 16:9, (real 16:9),the kind of music they play (current videos) are all of them widescreen.
I can understand that VH1 Classic has to respect original formats, and all videos from 70, 80 and partly 90's are 4:3.

Viacom doesn't hire the right people that have knowledge of the stuff. They don't understand the difference between 16:9-in-4:3-with-black-bars and anamorphic 16:9 (where the full resolution can be used, as opposed to only two thirds). And they don't care about picture quality anyway. So, that is it, we will have to live with it.

MTV has answered me !!!!!!!
They told me that they are actually in the process of converting these channels to a 16:9 format, and this fault was caused by incorrect settings during the changeover.
They apologised for the disruption and thanked me again for bringing that issue to their attention.
