Hi all

I have built my own webcam-servers based on raspberry pi and motion.

All is working very well, but now i like to stream it also to my TV (VU with openpli).

The stream is mjpeg.

I tried many things, but nothing worked so far.

I added a IPTV service to my bouquet list like this:

http://ip-from-cam:port/stream.mjpeg

This address is working on VLC and firefox.

When i zap to this channel i get this error in enigma2:

TuxTxt stopped service 6e
cleaning up
TuxTxt cache cleared
[eServiceMP3] Gstreamer error: Your GStreamer installation is missing a plug-in. (12) from decodebin20
[eServiceMP3] Gstreamer error: A Multipart demuxer plugin is required to play this stream, but not installed. (6) from decodebin20
[eServiceMP3] Gstreamer error: Internal data flow error. (1) from source

Then i have installed "gst-plugins-good-multipart".

When i now zap on the channel i see "Buffering 1%-6%" and enigma2 says:

TuxTxt stopped service 6e
cleaning up
TuxTxt cache cleared

But i see no picture. Only a black screen.

Any idea how to bring this mjpeg stream to the box?

It seems that i am not the only one with this problem, but nobody has a solution.

Is it not possible?

Hi,

afaik NO STB supports mjpeg. Try plugin camoFS.

ciao

Thx for the fast response.

I also thought about that, but i ask my why jpeg is supported and mjpeg not.

Anyway, camoFS is also an option for me.

I tried camoFS, but i think there is a bug in this version. I can not add a camera. If i try to add a camera it gives me an error:

Connection could not be established

And then "no camera found".

No way to add one of my cameras.

Any idea about that? Maybe editing the config manually?

Hi,

jpeg can easily be done in software whereas mjpg must be hardware because software is to slow.

Sorry only little experience with camoFS. I configured my cam with an editor. I added a camera without test and then there is the configuration in /etc/camfs (I think) which I changed with an editor.

ciao

JPEG (and so MJPEG) is very light to decode. Most STB'es have no problems decoding it on the CPU in software.

I think the camofs on the feed is broken, i tried a newer one and i could add my camera. But it has not worked. :(

If i understand it right, camofs can show streams with mpeg4 or snapshots with jpeg. But the software on my pi (motion) gives mjepg and no jpeg snapshots.

jpeg snapshots are only possible to a given directory.

ATM i stuck. No success in playing a mjpeg stream on my VU.

Is there a way to debug it more? If i "zap" to the channel it shows "buffering".

So something must going on, but what?
