Hi guys! I’ve a problem with a Formuler 3 receiver and OpenPLI 6.0.
I can’t decoding offline the recording with the softcam.
I follow your instruction but unfortunately when I restart the softcam and start the recording the display remains black and the timer is very fast up to the end.
I tried also to decoding offline (menu button on the recording and “decoding offline”) but the receiver crash!
Thanks for your support!

You need to record ECM's as well, that is not default. Did you try that?

Could be an oscam config problem?
Because I hava also problem with the records during the receiver in stanby...To have a correct recording (descrambled)I need to let switch on the receiver on the channel to record.
Thanks!

It can also be that the current driver version actually don't support offline decoding.

I don't know, at some point a few years ago we checked it for all models and it seems some models don't feature offline encoding with the latest drivers.

Maybe it is a stupid question but what is the difference between "offline decoding" as discussed in this thread and "delayed decoding" as indicated to be working well for VU+ here:

Nothing. I think "offline decoding" is a weird term, as nothing happens "offline"...

So it is the same thing?

Then why is it reported here as "no" for VU+ while on wiki it is shown as "+"?

As far as we know VU+ has implemented it in their drivers, at least for the "modern" series of boxes.

For which box exactly doesn't it work? It is easy enough to test: stop your softcam, make a recording and make sure you record ECM's as well. Stop the recording, start the softcam, play back the recording.

I do not have a VU+ box. I just read the reports in this thread and everybody says "no".

VU+ only implemented offline/delayed decoding in their 4k boxes.

Nevertheless the menu entry is available on all boxes, which is rather confusing.

Not true, it's also available on the mipsel receivers, but I didn't test it myself.

The confusion may be because they only obtained the feature quite recentely, I think some 3-4 months ago.

You're right: just tested on DUO2 and indeed working fine (both playback of not-decoded file and offline decoding).

Good to know that!

Do you know if this applies to all (recent) VU-MIPSEL boxes? I mean boxes like Ultimo & UNO.

So the information contained in the initial pages of this thread regarding VU+ is no longer true? Good to know.

Just tested (old) Ultimo, running PLi 6.1, Oscam with local card: no offline decoding possible.

This is what I meant by 'misleading': the menu entry 'Start offline decode' is available, and the process seems to start, but ends with a zero byte file.

As far as I can see in the code, there is no hardware feature coupled to this menu item, so the menu entry seems to be shown on every box.
