I would be very grateful for your help. I have spent 5 hours trying to add Mediaportal to my openpli 4.0 image after much frustration.

The problem i have is that i do not have the wallicons and in the menu i only have the option to 'List' the addons.
Can anybody please advise me how i can add the wallicons if possible by telnet or a file to add?
Thank you very much if you can help.

In the mp-menu you must give a correct path where the Icons should be stored

@ Pumuckel - Thank you for your advice. Where do i find this please to check?

In the menu we don't have the option to change the view from 'List' to the wallicons.

I decided to flash a new image and decided on openpli 4.

After taking me literally a whole day to get MP on loaded on this image

i find i have the 8.1.3 version installed but without wallicons i only have

the addons in list option.

Can someone explain how i can update to the new 8.1.4 version which was released

last night please?

I have tried but i get an error message.

I have attached MP log in the hope someone who knows what to do can help me as it has taken so

long it would be easier to reflash back to my old image.

Many thanks...

Nothing we can do about it.

We would like to, we would even like to provide it to our users in the feed, but the author hasn't given permission to run MP on an OpenPLi image, the license even prohibits it.

The more people complain with the author, the better. Perhaps things will change...

Thank you for your reply WanWizard.

So there is no option available at all?

Even unofficially?

Maybe there is, but I don't know, I don't use it.

Hi, would really appreciate hearing from anyone who may know how i can update the MediaPortal version i have from 8.1.3 to the latest 8.1.4.

I have tried and tried and keep getting the same error message:

opkg_install_pkg: Failed to download python-requests

Would be grateful if anyone could offer any help before i give up and revert to my previous image.

Many thanks.

The python-requests package will be available in the upcoming OpenPLi version, due in a few days.

Thank you WanWizard for letting me know.

Would that be in openpli 5?

Would it be possible to add it to the latest nighly build of openpli 4 so we can get via the updates please?

Many thanks...

OpenPLi 4 is frozen at the moment, pending the new release.

Since OpenPLi 4 runs a very old OE version, it is too much work to maintain two different releases at the same time, so we have choosen to focus our efforts on the new release, which is due in a few days.
