h264 encoded files with UHD resolution cannot be played on all UHD boxes. Only h265 encoded files.

Seems to be limitation of current chipsets.

is there any workaround for this? i've just checked and noticed that most 4k movies in torrents come in h264 so i need a fix for that.

VU+ Ultimo 4K:

RC 6.0.

1.) Teletext transparency. I cannot use the teletext menu to get black background on teletext anymore, only transparent background. This was also a problem in Openpli 4.

2.) Most times when I turn on the tuner from standby, I'll get a flickering picture when using cableTV. It almost looks like interferance. I have to restart to get a normal picture. I am using  a VU+ FBC-DVB-C cableTV tunermodule.

(This is not a problem on tested Blackhole img).

     No problem on DVB-S2 module.

I have installed the last version and it works nicely on my Duo2.

But, i thnik it's media player 1, should it be possible to have media player 2 in the next version ?

In fact, i have a problem with the pause : when i pause a movie, the media player comme back to the list and doesn't stay on the movie reading.

Is trhere an option to stay on the movie image ?

Many thanks to the PLi team and all the contributors for the good work on 6.0 so far. Some issues I noticed on the ET9000:

  • Shortly after installation (post install wizard, setting root password, uploading channel settings) I restarted E2. After that, there was no UI or OSD at all! After another restart of E2, everything was back to normal.
  • During install wizard, the Astra 28° satellite (DiSEqC Port C) was not automatically detected. (was ok in 4.0)
  • The tmp symlink in / should point to /var/volatile/tmp, not /var/tmp (this is also the case in 4.0)

No idea what mediaplayer is. Why don't you use the built-in player?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Another problem arises and the receiver (Xtrend6500) works 15-20 minutes. And then the picture is frozen and I need to restart the receiver ??? It was not happening at Openpli4 !!!

Same issue here with mp3 and wav files. Probably related to gstreamer bug
