GigaBlue says "Coming soon"

That is entirely up to them.

W're in the initial stages for cooperation, the next step is a working BSP package for the boxes they want support for, and we're waiting for that.

If they say "soon", they seem to be confident creating the package is not a problem.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

did something in smb change? if I update to latest version smb no longer working

if I restore image from few days ago smb working again?

Yes, you can not restore an smb.conf from OpenPLi 4 to OpenPLi 6.

If you have customized yours, the global section is different, so you need to take that from the new smb.conf, the share definitions seem to be compatible between Samba 3 and Samba 4.

Definitely not a known issue, never seen or heared anything like this before.\

I can confirm it... but it is typically a VU only issue. :(

Yes, you can not restore an smb.conf from OpenPLi 4 to OpenPLi 6.

When you change to openpli6 you'll have the old smb.conf on your box as smb.conf.old file.... to help you to adjust it to the new format.

From what I've seen I have not been able to trigger it manually, but when it happens it quite often happens several times.

Very randomly and slightly annoying.

And I had it on my previous STB, a Vu+ Duo, too.

I see the same behaviour on 6.0 RC as I've seen in previous versions.

It seems that if I look at one channel and at the same time have a recording running on another channel, the Channel List opens by itself, quite randomly.

I'm fairly certain it started doing this after I configured HDMI CEC to start/stop the TV when operating the STB (VU+ DUO2).

Is this a known issue with a solution?

Definitely not a known issue, never seen or heared anything like this before.

Maybe a fault with the remote, so that the box sees a keypress that isn't there? Or the TV sending some HDMI-CEC command that the box interprets wrong?

If you switch HDMI-CEC off again, does the problem go away?

I will turn off HDMI-CEC, so let's see if anything changes.

Thanks. Then we at least know if it is a hardware (related) issue, like remote, IR hardware, or IR driver processing, or HDMI-CEC related.

When does "develop" get merged into RC-6?

Never.

Bugfixes on R/C go into R/C, features go into develop, and will become the R/C for 6.1.

@Abu,

Everything in stable images (both R/C and Release) is pinned on commit hash, exactly to make sure the image remains stable. If you have a bugfix on a plugin that needs to go into R/C, issue a PR on https://github.com/O...o/reporefs.conf with an updated hash.

Please, bugfixes only, remember that if you sneak new features (with new bugs) in, users will have to live with these until we release 6.1. There will be no daily updates anymore!

Problem is there is no test image built from develop for people to test in before submitting code.

With this new way of creating images, everything is a bit confusing.

Release, R/C and develop.

Why can't they be delivered like they were on OP4 ?

The daily image we had on OP4 could be the develop one, and after several days of test on develop and being OK, it can be applied to stable.

Isn't it easier ??

Will be addressed in the near future, we need to setup an additional buildserver, but that will be for after the holidays (and the release of 6).
