I guess it's needed for NAS mounts. But there you can also say "use /media/hdd".

Any suggestions for a better alternative?
I personally prefer bookmarks instead of having to navigate through a big folder structure every time I want to create a timer. Would be even easier if the bookmark system used /media as root so you can move easily from one device to the next. Navigation from /media/abc to /media/xyz is now very cumbersome.

If there are sub-folders in the main recording folder, they should be available for selection. IMO, there should be no need to create bookmarks to them before we can select them for auto timers.
For me and as others have posted, I like to place recordings in folders. All the football stuff is in the "football" folder, cooking stuff in the "cooking" folder. Mrs records a few soaps, the auto timers are set to use the folders created for them. There are people who like tags, nobody will force them to create folders. but grouping all programs with "the" in the title is not for me.

I do too.
But I don't have them all as subfolders of the main recording location. So this would be very pointless for me, as I wouldn't be able to select a (large part of my) recording location(s) anymore.
And if I have to scroll through all my possible locations (if that would be the result of some directory scan), I have to go through dozens, most of them I will never record to again (complete series recorded previously, etc).

Hello, Yesterday, when I installed a new drive in VU + Solo2 I noticed that sleep only works for 5 minutes. If set to 1 minute, 2 minutes, 30 seconds, then the disk will go to sleep after about 5 minutes. After switching to Open PLi 4.0 everything works fine. When you change the disk to the previous situation is exactly the same.

There is no perfect solution. With regards to autotimers, if you have a bookmark (present case) or able to select the folders without creating bookmarks, the process is the same.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't brainstorm to see if we can find one. And that begins with getting all possible requirements on the table.

Hmm... issues between hdparm versions?
If I try this on my test box (with a 2,5" WD disk, OpenPLi 6-develop), I get:
root@hd2400:~# hdparm -S 12 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 12 (1 minutes 0 seconds) hdparm: HDIO_DRIVE_CMD: Invalid argument root@hd2400:~# hdparm -S 60 /dev/sda /dev/sda: setting standby to 60 (5 minutes 0 seconds) hdparm: HDIO_DRIVE_CMD: Invalid argument
So it doesn't accept 1 minute, and it doesn't accept 5 minutes. The error message indicates hdparm thinks the drive is not compatible.
Could you try this on your box, with both OpenPLi 4 and OpenPLi 6, so we can see if there is any difference in response? I can't install OpenPLi 4 on mine atm.
