It's exactly like Wanwizard already stated. Issues that can't be reproduced can't be fixed easy. I have never noticed the issue you mentioned. Not now nor earlier. The only thing I noticed today was a memory issue due to the download of the picons. After having deleted the complete picon map by hand, via the menu it appeared to be not possible, I didn't notice any weird issues anymore. Perhaps you experience an equal (memory) issue due to the amount of plugins and / or picons? Just a suggestion. The problem of the non-visible GUI on the ET9x00 has already been reported on page 17 of this thread.
Does the openPLi team even keep track of the issues rised with 6.0rc?

No, it is a release candidate, it is not a release.
Yes, you can restore an OpenPLi 4 backup (autobackup plugin) in OpenPLi 6.

I have been just executing the update with openpli-6.0-rc-et9x00-20170807_usb.zip - 2017/08/07 13:37 - 4.11MB. After the update, my ET-9200 stands still on "BOOTING". So I have to turn back to openpli-6.0-rc-et9x00-201708076_usb.zip. So far the box now is working as usual again.
By the way, I now know what the problem with the disappeared GUI after update is. Every time I do the update "online" the GUI disappears. If i do the update by USB everything works fine and the GUI will be displayed as usual!

Quite possible, there have been quite a few issues with building the R/C, it could well be something is out of sync. That can happen, it's an R/C, bugs are still being found and fixed.
A file with 4.11Mb? That can't be right, I think that misses the kernel, so quite logical it doesn't boot. I thought only the ARM boxes had that problem, but it seems all of them have. I've removed them all to avoid further confusion.

If it was caused by build issues, it probably is. We wiped the buildservers yesterday to force a clean build for both the image and all packages in the feed.
I was about the flash a box with today's image. To humour you, I'll flash the image of the 5th, and do an online update after that. So watch this space.

Image of the 5th boots up fine, I've now updated, but since there will hardly be any updates, I doubt that will change.
edit: nope, no problems here.

Dream explorer works fine here. Try de-installing and installing it.
For the remote controller is the right one configured (I'm now at work, but in expert settings you can choose it somewhere in the settings menu)?
