I don't know what you have installed. Given this topic, I assume 6.0-rc.

 

But 6.0-release was released today, which needs to be flashed, you can't update to it from the box.

 

Make an autobackup on a USB stick, download and place the extracted image files on the same stick, boot the box with it, flash it, and after the flash let it restore the backup..

Will Autobackup to hard disk work too (as it usually does), or do I need to backup to USB stick?

I'm on 6.0 RC right now.

 

Time for a new thread for 6.0 Release perhaps?

If I flash the latest Release version, can I install my settings from Autobackup to save all the hassle of scanning all the sats in my range or should I start totally fresh?

The issue with the 1st generation VU+ boxes is fixed by VU+, 6.0-release can be flashed without problems.

 

Autobackup works no matter where it is placed. Since you can choose not to restore, putting it on the harddisk is fine. Before that, you had to resort to commandline actions if you wanted to flash without a restore.

 

There will be a reshuffle of the forums to accomodate the new release schedule.

Yes, offcourse you can. Make sure your current image is up to date first, and then make a final backup, so the autoinstall file in the backup is correct too.

Autobackup/restore works from USB or harddisk... it does not work from nas...

Ok, flashed 6.0 Release just fine, my only comment is that after flashing the receivers displays were dark (off) and the TV showed the nice, OpenPLi start image (the blocky picture "Release 6.0 2017/10/13").

I had to power off and power on to get it working.

 

Autobackup restored all but the softcam.

 

Is this expected?

Note that an auto-restore can take a long time, if you have a box that doesn't show commandline progress on screen, you might have to look at a boot logo for 10-15 minutes, depending on the box and what you restore (my OS mini+ needed just over 12 minutes), so you really need to be patient. As of 6.1., this process will have proper progress indication so you can see what is going on.

It's a VU+ Duo2, perhaps waiting 10 minutes is not enough, but all seems well.

A status indicator will be welcome.

On se download section, there is only the last 6.0.

We will start on getting a stable develop this week, and when done, it can be branched off to create 6.1-rc. Which after a test period will become 6.1-release.

Then the author needs to update his plugin. You might want to ping Taapat if he doesn't respond, it's his baby. ;)

Unfortunately, the plugin versions is frozen in rc and release, and therefore this changes not available.
In the plugin, there are new features (videio higer that 720 playback) that only work on develop, so obviously I will have to create a separate branch with this fix for release.
