With the sunrise of a new OpenPLi 6 image, we currently have a Release Candidate image available.

A lot has been changed since OpenPLi 4 and compared with our existing Wiki, a lot of things has been changed too, so at the background, the OpenPLi team has made a new Wiki with lot’s of new articles.

Our goal is to make the Wiki a complete knowledge base based on our image.

We’ll continue to improve our Wiki and more articles can be expected in the future.

The Wiki can be found here!

You're welcome. I am still making new articles to make it even better..

The design is not final yet.. but you get the impression...  I wanted to make it with the use of animated gifs more a more explanation for some content. I think that idea has worked fine..

Thanks a lot but I'm getting this:
[WVfbEF1ipgU6GA6cbkDFIgAAAJQ] 2017-07-01 17:25:36: Fatal exception of type MWException
Is it normal ?

No. ;)

Should be fixed now, the wiki wasn't completely production-ready, so I still have to make last minute fixes to the code. And then this happens when you make a typo... :(

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

No.

I've made a custom Auth bridge between MediaWiki and IPBoard, so it can re-use your forum session to authenticate for the wiki. And that ran into a mediawiki bug (database update failed because it used old cached data).

Took a while to fix it, but problem solved now.

I mean for the articles ;)

I think for https://wiki.openpli.org/Releasenotes you should change "DM800SE, DM500HD, DM7020HD (insufficient flash space)" to "DM800SE, DM500HD (insufficient flash space), DM7020HD and the rest because of no support from the manufacturer"

Who said that dm8000 is supported by dream?

Nobody had dm7020hd in team, that's why.

PS. Although, making exceptions is ugly. Now we cannot remove the remaining #if dreambox code.....................

PPS. On the other hand, there is no image for wetek, so extra code for wetek only will go. :)

I agree with you, Keeping dreambox related things just because of dm8000 is not a good decision but I respect PLi all the time.

PP, you might not have all the information that we used to base our decision on.

About Wetek, there is still a chance they will jump on board. If at some point we decide that moment has gone by, we can indeed decide to drop Wetek support altogether and that, indeed, would solve a lot of "#ifdef" cases.

Sure, those things take time, lot of time, just recently we drop some DM7025 code ;)

What I miss in the Wiki (thouh I might overlook it) is the first step to enjoy OpenPLi. How to flash your box (bootloader and/or image). There is a installation Wiki, but that starts on the point after this step. Maybe it is also an idea to have the latest available bootloaders availble for download per brand in the download section (or a link to the manufacturers site).

Indeed. Installation is a instruction how to use the installation wizard.

At receivers you can find all the necessary information. I am still expanding the information.. but it's a start :-)

As with the introduction of the R/C of OpenPLi 6 the menu structure has been changed this seems to cause minor issues for the more experienced end-user as the default menu level is 'normal'. This also is being cleared in the new WIKI. https://wiki.openpli...aks#Menu_Levels
