But still what can ppanel do what hotkey cannot do?
Why do you want not understand, that I am talking about "engines" and hotkey is "button" for running this engines ? And there is missing location for this engines, thats all. There In hotkey you can run ppanel, right ... but directory for this ppanel-scripts was removed (by mistake), when was removed old softcam, where it was created. Thats all.

But still what can ppanel do what hotkey cannot do?
When using ppanel there is under the blue button an entry called Ppanel.
Selecting this opens the menu to all your defined stuff. And there you can run it.
Now I can assign them via Hotkey (did not try it yet) to one button on the RC. Lets say the blue button.
Pressing the blue button will bring up a menu with all my stuff. Nice.
However, the original function of the Blue Button is gone. And I do not want to lose this functionality.
So, assign it to a different button. But which one? Each button has already its function assigned which I do want to lose, or access via a menu.
In short, how can I get all my custom functions (4 or 5) added to the normal function of the blue button, either directly or under one heading? (so keeping the normal list of blue button functions)
Willy
PS: Although I still want my own functions, they are not that important, that I really, really want to sacrifice another button for it.

Gentlemen, in the time this discussion is going on, the problem could have been fixed.
As there is no easy alternative to produce a "menu list" of personal scripts on the screen, ppanel functionality should be restored using a PR on R/C.
I can't recall seeing a discussion to remove it from the image, and I don't see the reason why. All other references to PPpanels are still in Enigma (so it isn't removed completely), it is not in any way "in the way" of other developments, and as IMS states, it is useful and has no real alternative.

As I saw - removing /etc/ppanels directory was "sideeffect" only ... then this discussion is irelevant ... all what is needed is restore creating this directory
Exactly. The discussion should not be about why someone uses PPanels but if there's any bug why the PPanels don't show up.

Can someone create a PR against R/C to address it?

As cccam is not anymore by default in the image we have by no ppanel anymore in the image. So you always get an empty list when you select ppanel as there are no ppanels. Adding an empty directory in the image does hot solve that. When there are no ppanels nothing pops-up...
Actually when there are no ppanels you should hide the ppanel option on the blue button. That is a solution...
We only could consider to add that directory in the image as a "marker" that indicates where to put the ppanels...

If I understand it correctly - no cccam as a standard - is the reason that the ppanel line under the blue button is missing? Because you do not need it anymore?
And what with those who want to install cccam? No need anymore for CCcaminfo?

When you install cccam you got the cccam ppanel... It's in the package of cccam. It is not fully cccaminfoplugin....

Maybe enclosed scripts could be "standard" in the ppanel then. Then it is usefull and also an opportunity to install some plugins which are not in the feed

hi,
i know that i can execue scripts with dreamexplorer and hotkey.
to execute scripts with dreamexplorer is very ugly and incommodious, hotkey is very good, but if you have more scripts on a button you see a list as example;
hddtemp.sh
dvd2dvdiso.sh
and so on...
so you see the name of the scripts and that's not so beautiful, with ppanel you have .xml thereto and you can call the entries as you like it, here are pictures;
one.jpg 94.81KB 9 downloads
two.jpg 188.93KB 7 downloads
three.jpg 221.6KB 5 downloads

Hi,
ppanel is still active in OpenPLi6 RC, since I use it.
The only thing that I point out is that the folder must be /etc/ppanels but if you download the sample package file for ppanel it creates the folder /etc/ppanel which does display anything in ppanel but if you read within the /etc/ppanel the sample file it is clearly stated that it should be copied to /etc/ppanels.
And indeed in OpenPLi6 RC the default folder /etc/ppanels is not created by default.
So perhaps change the sample ppanel file package to have it to create the sample file in /etc/ppanels instead of /etc/ppanel (of course remove of the package should only remove the file and not the folder) would let people installing it see something in the ppanel blue button menu.
I am also a user of Ppanel to launch scripts that generates customs entries in my channel list and reload the channel list afterwards.
