For days, Mutant HD51 have implemented new Si2166D tuner interesting will be if Team Open PLI, will make changes in firmware to support the new tuner .

New tuner Si2166D with OpenPLI image does not work fine in sense that does not mark neither procentage nor db, in the same channel -

Hellas 39 -Eurosport HD  /Bulsatcom/

 

Si2166D - 58 % / 11.5 db

 

AVL6211- 68%  / 12.7 db

 

 

May be for driver reason ???

 

 

I like Open PLI, not tried other images .

I don't see the problem? The values differ between turner types. That is perfectly normal and usual. Don't rely on these numbers.

No Master, I do not trust. I have another receiver with  tuner Si 21662 = DVB-S2X, the parameters that indicate, are others and if they are real .The parameters of AVL6211 are real, similar to those of another receiver with DUAL Si21662 tuner. I dream a similar problem years ago with Xtrend 8500, and you could to mess with.

Same tuner in SF4008. Reads a bit lower than Vu+ tuners but works fine even on weak signals. Don't obsess over the numbers.

Not, Octagon 4008 tuner is not same as Mut @ nt, not at all.
Tuner de Mutant is single and Octagon is DUAL
And of Octagon Team Openeight, that supposedly work for manufacturer tried twice to adjust the parameters and in the end they get it
In channel # 0 of Movistar + Si21662 marks in db 14.3 and tuner of Mut @ nt SI2166D - 12.9 db
If they are first equal they will mark the same parameter with a difference of decimals

 

I ask for help aki, first because Mut @ nt comes from factory with basic OpenPLI and second because I like the image for its sincerity and ease of handling

Bottom line is that openpli accurately reports what the driver returns so nothing to do with more modifications in the enigma code! Now between different variarions in the demods of the same manufacturer these small differences are more than normal. For these tuners blindscan release is way more crucial and that is what should be anticipated.

Not necessarily to do with the tuners but there is a difference between the SF4008 and the HD51 when it comes to multi-stream, the latter does not support internal stream-relay (yet?) so it's not possible to open packages like Zeonbud on  4.8 east but on the other hand the HD51 does have support in the drivers for PV without stream-relay, so you pay your money and take your choice.

That's easy told 99% a dvb-s2 transponder with different fec. The real dvb-s2x transponder still need to come.

However it doesn't matter with the boxes now available as this generation broadcom chipset doesn't support dvb-s2x either.

You mean what currently is marketed as "DVB-S2X" is actually DVB-S2 with some extensions that were already in S2 in the first place, but were never implemented in most tuners.

What dish size and LNB's you're supposed to use for these rates? I don't think that's somehing for "customer" use.

BTW do you know what "root" and "complex" mode mean? I can't any docs on it. Gold mode is straightforward.
