Hello,

I have an VU+ Duo2 box with a TT3L10 tuner and I am running latest build of OpenPLI  4.0. When I tried to do a service scan I get the following crash dump.

What can I do to resolve it ?

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/lib/enigma2/python/Screens/ScanSetup.py", line 228, in getCableTransponderData
IndexError: list index out of range

Is this a C or D tuner by any chance? You might want to try the R/C for 6, it has some fixes in that area, and newer drivers.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

I downloaded the image from http://downloads.ope...0170721_usb.zip.

I found the following thread https://forums.openp...topped-working/ and thought that might be related to my problem. I have since updated to openpli RC6 but that did not remedy my problem but I got a similar crash log (on another line tough)

<<END LOG>>

I have also tried numerous other scan configurations (like manual scan, provider scan etc) but these other scans all end up with the little spinning dots in the upper left corner that spins forever. The box is brand new and I am suspecting there might be a more serious problem (ie something wrong with the tuner or the box itself).

Thank you for your replies.

Yes, I had the oscam module installed but it doesn't seem to matter since it crashes even with a pristine flash. I have today tried the VU+ original (latest) image and it doesn't work either  but it doesn't crash, it just says "scan failed".

I have also tried the OpenVix image and it doesn't crash but also hangs forever when trying a network scan. My frustration is accelerating and I think this can not be solved through software fixes.

Is there any way you may increase the debug output when doing stuff because it gets annoying when things just freeze and nothing happen ? I can still log into my box and type commands even when everything seems to "hang" on the TV though.

Regards

If you can login, can stop enigma using

init 4

after that, you can start it in debug mode, using

ENIGMA_DEBUG_LVL=4 /usr/bin/enigma2

which starts enigma in the foreground, so you can see all debug output rolling over the screen.

You can return to normal by terminating enigma using Ctrl-C from the terminal, or "Restart Enigma" using the remote. Then restart with

init 3

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

That crash looks like crap output from the dvb-c blindscan binary.

I think I have got it up and running now and it was NOT a software problem. The box started to behave normally (no crashes, no hanging with spinning dots) when I moved the tuner card from slot B to slot A (I only have one card) on mu VU+ Duo2 box. I would not have figured it out without some extra debugging. I now run OpenPli 6 RC and when I mounted the harddrive from my old (and broken) DM 800 HD SE, it even restored the backup from the drive so I'm a happy camper now. But I will still talk to the vendor who was the one mounting the tuner in slot B; it cost me a couple of hours of troubleshooting.

Thank you for your help.

Which is probably why the binary was outputting junk.

What is wrong with using slot B and leaving A empty?

Seems like (some) software can't cope with it.

Who knows? The blindscan binary is closed source so blame it on Vu+.

Sometimes a crash is better than trying to gloss over a problem.
