A friend with VU solo have this usb tuner which was working ok on Black hole image. Now I installed him openpli RC6 but the tuner is not recognized any more.

Same tuner on my VU Zero with RC6 works fine. 

 

What can be the problem?

What did you install with opkg and give some logs too please.

Installed driver from plugin downloads  on both boxes.  After reboot Zero works while Solo does not.

 

What logs do you need please?

Driver installed is RTL2832 but works ok on VU zero -

Key line is

usb 1-1: dvb_usb_rtl28xxu: unknown tuner=NONE

The solo runs an other kernel than the zero, so it could well be it needs a patch to make it work. I've seen Xtrend using the Gennari patch on their older kernels.

So can I do something or I have to return to BlackHole?

If a kernel needs patching, the BSP needs to be modified, which is the job of VU+, we don't maintain it.

 

But I can't say for sure, this isn't my area of expertise, someone with more kernel experience should have a look at it. We don't advocate the use of USB tuners, and don't have any, so for us it is a bit of guess work.

Is not kernel related as those are supported by out of tree drivers

Have been trying different images but only BlackHole  (Kernel 3.9.6) is able to recognize this USB Tuner.

Any chance for a fix please?

Just an update to this old thread.

 

I updated a Vu+ Solo2 from OpenPLi 4 to 6.2 today. DVB-T USB RTL28xx tuner wasn't recognised after the update. I uninstalled then reinstalled the driver from the feeds, and it now works well.

This was Solo not Solo2!
