How long ago was it that you updated? There haven't been any changes for the dm8000 is dogs years...

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Drive connected or configured incorrectly? If you do a 'dmesg' after startup you should be able to see if is has detected your devices or not.

hi WanWizard

i did the dmesg and the result wasusb 1-1.1: new high-speed USB device number 4 using ehci-brcm

i think is a configured problem. After i did the updates openPLi4 stopped reading the hardrive as well but i fixed that by putting the line [/dev/sda1 /media/hdd auto defaults 0 0] in fstab

How come that line wasn't in there in the first place? There is nothing in the image that would remove that.

Are you multibooting or something?

That is not a fix, only probably a workaround.

The main question is why your devices aren't mounted, if they are detected. Can you issue these three commands

ls -l /media
mount
grep "" -r /proc/scsi

after a cold boot and without any fstab or other fixes, and post the results here?

Thanks. Forgot one:

dmesg | grep sd

directly after a boot, so I can see what device is linked to which device node.

Did you add the "/dev/sda1" entry to fstab?

According to this information, I see 3 SCSI buses:

scsi1:
- your WD harddisk (/dev/sda)
scsi2:
- SD reader (/dev/sdc)
- CF reader (/dev/sdd)
- SM reader (/dev/sde)
- MS reader (/dev/sdf)
scsi3:
- your DVD player (/dev/cdrom)

and what is the result if you remove the "/dev/sda1" from your fstab? What is the output of "mount" then?

There is no USB stick connected at the moment? I don't see any in the output. What does the dmesg command show when you also have plugged a USB stick in?

And is there any difference when you boot with the stick in, of when you plug the stick in when the box is already running?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

You should not have to do this, this should happen automatically using mdev. Same for when you public in a USB stick, it should automatically create /media/usb.

It looks like there is something seriously broken in the software on your box. It might be a good idea to make a backup of your settings (autobackup plugin, enable autoinstall, and make the backup on a usb stick, leave that stick plugged in when you flash) and flash with the latest image. After the flash, when the box reboots, it will prompt you for a restore of your backup.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Doesn't really matter. Either way, you have to flash again soon, when 6.0 will be released (as 4 will become EoL, and 6.0-rc will seize to exist).
