https://wiki.openpli.org/HDMI-CEC
By default the HDMI-CEC option is turned off. If you want to alter the setting, your Customize level must be Advanced or higher.
1. Go to Menu->Setup->System->Customize
2. Put the Setup mode to Advanced and press green (OK)
3. Select Audio / Video->HDMI-CEC setup and Enable the function.

I guess he means hdmi in and not hdmi-cec.

I don't know the answer. But maybe VU invented something new and current mechanism in e2 don't work with VU solution...

It should work with the basic mechanism. The specific service reference or as far I know via a hotkey. As the remote of the VU has less buttons we did not define a standard key yet. E.g. Long tv is already toggle tv screen on the display... I'm considering to extend hotkey with a shift key function... where shift is e.g. Long red

Thank you littlesat

But This function can be activated by the blue button in the original VU + Plus team image, it's very simple, it's a shame that the OpenPli image does not allow it.

And to amigo again, i don't understand how you can activate HDMI IN of Ultimo 4K using an Apple TV ... The apple TV Have only a HDMI out , do you mean you plud this output

on the Vu HDMI in and it works ?

Thank you

The blue button is already in use.

If you like, you can use the hotkey to assign the HDMI IN function to the blue key, no problem. You will only lose it's current function.

If Apple TV had HDCP protection on its HDMI port, you probably need a HDMI switch that removes this protection, the HDMI IN of most boxes isn't HDCP capable.

Can you record from HDMI in? If so, that sounds promising. ;)

I assigned the green long button to activate HDMI in. Works ok. I only need it once in a while.

Maybe we could consider to put this function on long green by default (also for the other boxes with hdmi in)

Very disappointed by the HDMI In limited to 720P on a 4K terminal ... I suppose it is voluntary on behalf of the team VU +. It is a pity, it would be normal that what comes out is to the same definition as what comes in.

Might be some lame copy protection thing. Like boxes that used to have only an RF out so you couldn't make high-definition copies.

Tks WanWizard, You're surely right, but everybody could record video from his own camcorder /or camera  in full HD in a STB like VU+ 4K according to the price we paid for.

No, it seems to be a hardware limitation.
