Hello,

I use a Vu+ Solo2 running Openpli4 and just received my Tbs5925. I loaded the TBS driver, and it is working but cannot retrieve the multistream channels on AB3 5°W

Question is simple : what I do to solve this issue ?

I can read french, dutch, german, english, italian but NOT greek or russian !!!

Tnx

Felix

1. Use rc-6 that includes multistream.

2. Use http://satellites-xml.org/ to get satellites.xml with multistream values.

Athoik,

What multistream values? Can you post what the correct entries for 5W transponder 12648 V should look like, so we can compare it ours and to info at https://www.lyngsat....t-5-West-A.html and update the parser?

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

@wanwizard, please ask @huevos, the parser requires to grab also is_id, pls_code, pls_mode.

Not sure if sites include those values.

@El Sato,

Why are in your example all transponders defined with both mode 0 and mode 1, while only one is present?

He used the convertion formula to get both possible values.

#include <stdio.h>
#include <string.h>

typedef unsigned int u32;

/* This should maybe go into dvb-core/dvb_math.c */
static u32 gold2root(u32 gold)
{
        u32 x, g;

        if (gold >= 0x3ffff)
                gold = 0;
        for (g = 0, x = 1; g < gold; g++)
                x = (((x ^ (x >> 7)) & 1) << 17) | (x >> 1);        return x;
}

int main(int argc, char *argv[])
{
        u32 gold = atol(argv[1]);
        u32 root = gold2root(gold);
        printf("gold %d -> root %d\n", gold, root);
        return 0;
}
Above is from Digital Devices: https://github.com/D...f1250bbbeb0c7c6

With above code you can get ouput in a file, for greping, or in db...

gold 1 -> root 131072

Not sure what I can or have to do with that.

I have a string with:

DVB-S2 PLS gold 131070 multistream stream 5

which I convert to

pls_mode="1" pls_code="131070" is_id="5"

correct ?

Why should I then add a second transponder with the same entries for all fields, but with pls_mode 0?

Because some chipsets may be able to deal with one mode but not another. For example the HD51/SF4008 can't open PLS Combo mode, but convert to Gold or Root and you can open the stream.

What we really need is a formula to convert Combo to Gold, and Combo to Root.

By the way http://satellites-xml.org is my site. Basically it is just an online frontend to the code that creates OE-Alliance's satellites.xml.

I knew that. ;)

But that doesn't really help me, the question was, what do I convert

DVB-S2 PLS gold 131070 multistream stream 5

to?

I don't see any Combo defined on 5W, so for that position this is not really relevant.

Don't forget Multistream is complete abracadabra for me, I can't receive it, and I have no clue what the numbers in Athoik's post mean, let alone what should be converted to what.

I can't see the point doing that. The values are interchangeable so all that is doing as far as I can see is increasing the time it takes to do a scan (due to double scanning) for no benefit.

Re:Combo mode, there is only one transponder listed across the entire arc on Lyngsat and that is on 30w.

Doing a Gold to Root conversion means you don't need a PLS mode column in your DB. Apart from that I can't see any additional benefit as all STBs so far can handle both modes. But at the moment I don't do it. I just list the transponders exactly how they are on Lyngsat.

Ok, clear.

The post from @El Sato confused me, I plan to do exactly the same as you.

As of today, our satellite.xml file also includes the multistream transponder parameters: https://github.com/O...3b296c9bbb2c5a6
