Not really.
Spend the last few days running memtest86, looks like my buildserver has a dodgy dimm module, that causes it to either hang and crash or reboot, all terminating the build. It's running again, but it's still 29 images until it gets to the vuzero.
Might have to fork out for new dimm modules I'm afraid.

root@vuzero:~# opkg install --force-reinstall /tmp/kernel-module-r8188eu_3.13.5-r1.6.3.1_vuzero.ipk Not downgrading package kernel-module-r8188eu on root from 3.13.5-r1.6.3.4 to 3.13.5-r1.6.3.1.
Then I tried to remove it completely, and install the ipk, installation goes through but it's not working and I'm getting this info
root@vuzero:~# opkg info kernel-module-r8188eu Package: kernel-module-r8188eu Version: 3.13.5-r1.6.3.4 Depends: kernel-3.13.5 Status: unknown ok not-installed Section: kernel Architecture: vuzero Maintainer: OE-Core Developers <openembedded-core@lists.openembedded.org> MD5Sum: a08f01e34d757d6b23c635d3567091de Size: 417262 Filename: kernel-module-r8188eu_3.13.5-r1.6.3.4_vuzero.ipk Source: http://archive.vuplus.com/download/kernel/stblinux-3.13.5.tar.bz2 file://nfs-max-rwsize-8k.patch file://rt2800usb_fix_warn_tx_status_timeout_to_dbg.patch file://linux-tcp_output.patch file://linux-3.13-gcc-4.9.3-build-error-fixed.patch file://kernel-add-support-for-gcc-5.patch file://rtl8712-fix-warnings.patch file://0001-Support-TBS-USB-drivers-3.13.patch file://0001-STV-Add-PLS-support.patch file://0001-STV-Add-SNR-Signal-report-parameters.patch file://0001-stv090x-optimized-TS-sync-control.patch file://kernel-gcc6.patch file://vuzero_defconfig Description: r8188eu kernel module r8188eu kernel module; Realtek Wireless Lan Driver Package: kernel-module-r8188eu Version: 3.13.5-r1.6.3.1 Depends: kernel-3.13.5 Status: install user installed Architecture: vuzero Installed-Time: 1504711995
So

Hmmm?

It refuses to downgrade. My own buildserver has a separate PR database, so the minor versions are different (6.3.4 vs 6.3.1).
You can add "--force-downgrade" to deal with this error.

Your post above showed an installation error message, and the info of the old (and indeed not working) driver?
It looks like it refuses to load my version, and prefers the one from the feeds. I'll see if that can be helped.
edit: you did try to install including the path, so "/tmp/....", and not only with the package name?

It's a kernel driver, you might have to restart the box.

Hmm... I'll backup my vuzero tomorrow, and flash it with my image, so I can test myself what goes on / wrong.
You'll have to be a bit patient I'm afraid, I'm new at this, only been working with this for about 3 weeks...

That is the standard kernel driver, which has no support for that specific USB stick.

Correct. As nothing has changed.
I have no clue how to replace a driver the kernel already provides, and I won't spend any time creating kernel patches for all the different kernels simply because the manufacturer can't be bothered to update their kernels every now and then.
So you'll have to buy a stick that works, or even better, buy a wireless bridge so you don't need to bother with USB misery.
