Recently I am receiving a lot of request for solving problems for EPG for IPTV via PM.

This is not the way.  Pls. refrain from doing that.

EPG for IPTV is certainly possible, but it remains a pain in the behind, which involves a lot of work.  And mostly each user will need a special adapted set-up for his situation.

A general solution is not possible.

Again, there are 2 methods:

1. Re-using the the service refs from the satellite channels.

2. Making dedicated channels.xml files and dedicated sources.xml file for the EPGimport.

Lately, I am seeing requests which hussle these 2 methods.  Trying to use the first method with a dedicated sources file.

It is clear that these users do not understand the methodology involved.

Try first to understand what is involved, chose one method that suits you, and stick to it.  And above anything else stop asking me for help.

Pls. only ask for help on legal IPTV

Willy

Besides the warning above, I am still getting request by PM for EPG for IPTV.

Now there are these days 100 % legal IPTV providers.

So, I tried to to write a script which will address the problems in certain cases.

The script will construct an enigma2 bouquet from an m3u (or m3u8) file.  It wll link the EPG if this is defined in the m3u file in the tvg-id tag.

So check your m3u playlist if this is the case.   If this tag is not present, or the tvtg-id tag is empty, no EPG link will be made, but a bouquet will still be produced.

If you want EPG for these channels, edit the playlist (m3u) by adding the appropriate tvg-id tags (tvg-id="something")

First obtain your playlist (m3u or m3u8) and copy this to your receiver.  Then use the script mu2bouquet.sh as directed.

Usage: m3u2bouquet.sh m3ufile Name TID ServiceType

m3ufile: Name of the m3u file including path
Provider: Provider Name, to identfy the entries in the bouquet and channels file
TID: Up to 4 digit hexadecimal number, to disguish the services from different providers
Servicetype: 1, 4097, 5001 or 5002.  If omitted 4097 is used

The file can be found here:  https://github.com/d.../m3u2bouquet.sh

This script requires that bash is installed on your receiver.

If not install it with: opkg install bash

You can run this script for more playlists.

Do not forget to change the ProviderName and use a different TID.

Succes
