I think your confused with the new brandname owner Xtrend (nought only brandname) and the manufacturer of the older Xtrend models.

I am not confused at all. I will not go into details here, but I'm pretty sure you know as much as I do. ;)

didn't look hard enough than, as it has been discussed at least 100 times... ;)

There are driver issues with the 1st en 2nd generation Xtrends (up until the 10K), so we can't build them until the manufacturer fixes those.

Hello,

Do I understand correctly that with OpenPLi 6 I will keep experiencing disappearing sound on my ET9000? And there is not much hope for manufacturer intervention?

That would be disappointing as I probably never experienced that on OpenPLi 4.

We also think it's disappointing. What do you suggest we do about it?

Is the manufacturer aware of the issue? If so, are they interested in fixing it?

I know you hate workarounds but if the manufacturer doesn't care, perhaps the only way to use OpenPLi 6 on Xtrends comfortably is a proper workaround if it can be found.

It seems to have something to do with downmix. If we keep it OFF, will the sound stop disappearing?

And what will happen if sound disappears during recording? Is it lost for good or will it be heard on playback?

The sound of recordings will still be recorded... It is just the volume control that respond like maddness...

Do you imply here that we sit around and don't care?

No, I just want to know if the manufacturer gives a s**t because when I read about VU+, they don't care about bugs in their drivers.

The Xtrend brand owner no longer exists, the question is if the new owner is willing to fix it, and if so, if that can given the fact they don't seem to be the suppliers of the ATV drivers.

We can't use it, drivers are defined in the BSP, and we don't maintain (or have write access) to the BSP repository.

And we don't want to use it, as we don't know what is in them. The manufacturer has aleady confirmed they have not made those drivers, so the whereabouts of those drivers are very vague. For all we know they could contain a massive backdoor...

But it's more than likely that old xtrend driver team has build these drivers. Who else has the knowledge to do this? I guess not much and I don't think that someone has build new drivers and also has found a way to handle the security board...

And who is supposed to have said exactly this? So who is producing the "nonsense"?

Apparently writing clearly for you is just as difficult as reading. We have mentioned a POSSIBLE backdoor, because we cannot verify the origin of the drivers. Now that is a whole different story than what you condens it into.

And YES "no one update the bsp", I guess you mean "the manufacturer did not update the BSP". The latter is true, check it yourself.

So, more complaints of "nonsense" based on bad reading and improper assumptions?

Calm down guys. Don't except that everybody can read/write perfect English.

What is the status? There are newer drivers from the old driver team. But we cannot use them as they are not in the BSP.
Can't the new xtrend owner just add them? Then everybody is happy. But we know that the new owner cannot fix bugs. But this is not new. He cannot do it now either.

It's not the level of English that irritates me. It's the fact that parts of statements are taken out of their context and used for blaming statements that are simply not true. The refusal to try to understand or accept the situation we have been been explaining over and over again.

There are newer drivers from the old driver team

That is your personal statement. Officially we know nothing. We deal with the (current) owner of the brand and they claim they do know nothing of the drivers version. So we cannot take the responsibility for them. The responsibility for the drivers is always at the manufacturer and that's where ATV differs from OpenPLi.

Can't the new xtrend owner just add them?

We have asked for a solution. How they resolve this issue is their job. If they want to take responsibility for a set of drivers they don't have the source code of, then that is their decision. But apparently they choose not to go on that line.
