I don't think the contents of the forum are THAT interesting. But they should at least try to get a repository for their source back up again.

I don't read PM -> if you have something to ask or to report, do it in the forum so others can benefit. I don't take freelance jobs.
Ik lees geen PM -> als je iets te vragen of te melden hebt, doe het op het forum, zodat anderen er ook wat aan hebben.

But if no (repository) backups exist then they are depending on the local copies the developers have. And I think the most of these developers will have a local copy of this repository.

I don't think, because of this, any of the source is missing, that's good. Now let's setup a new public repo and fill it from a clone from someone.

The most reliable at the moment is this one: http://www.oscam.cc/...ad&threadID=330 which has both svn and git available.

I think the big boys found their way to the forum. Not surprised if they simply threw in the towel after some visit from a lawyer..

Quite possible. But if that is the case, they won't pop up somewhere else, which the message suggests. If not, they're a bunch of amateurs, how would you let this happen if you have a project of this size?

When admin is not available how to they know a backup does not excist ?

Is it not simply something government related like they did before with a part of darknet ?

I really doubt that. There is nothing government related in the Oscam project.

If something was violated, it was related to copyright and patent infringement. Which is civil law, meaning the copyright or patent holder can attempt to sue you. But that is about the extend of it. And if that is the case, I'm pretty sure they will be able to find who is behind the project and/or who contributed to it, and send a nice guy in suit and tie to those people, with a subpoena. I haven't heard this has happened.

So for me it still falls in the category stupidity.
