Enigma2 EPG has dificulties to display Chinese characters correctly . The sender provides country code, nevertheless it sends in Unicode UTF-16BE.

Enigma tries to encode using page code related to chi. I tried to set the utf16be in the encoding.conf but does not seem to pickup.

Is there anyone that understand that part of enigma2?

I am search across all kinds of forums and seems that there left no intelligence on this earth

best regards

and thank you

P.S. I manage to display channels names after some tweaking.

enclosed image shows to the right after time column a garbage display

Posting this twice will not get this answered any sooner.

I do not have any idea how to resolve this problem.

well, sorry if i posted twice, just dont know where is the correct place, and maybe confused forums, I am straggle with this issue for over a month I tried different gurus, nevertheless nobody either cares nor have idea.
I am looking at the code responsible for it, https://github.com/O...se/encoding.cpp
just cant find instruction on creating development environment
I found that site
https://openpli.org/development/
but it does not give any specific information nor links. Just states if you want to develop then is nice. It worst then microsoft help.

would you know on which linux version is the development setup , what prerequisites needed?
I like to trace it and fix it

thank you

I am not very experienced in building my own image.

But this guideline should help:  http://users.telenet...npliubuntu.html

I practically may need to compile one one module, thank you le me take a look.

one more question is it possible with epgimport to import local xml file. for now I just setup a local  webserver and modified conf file with the link, it gets it ok, just does not want to import anything, wonder what could be the reason.

thank you

p.s.

if there is a way . could you tell me how to get local file imported

You need a cross compiler environment, so it doesn't really matter if you want to compile a single module or an entire image, the prerequisites are the same.

The link Willy gave you is quite complete for Ununtu, but it works fine on Fedora 26 server too (which I use).

OpenPLi 6 is based on Yocto Pyro, see http://www.yoctoproj...pported-distros for info on supported host OS versions, and required packages. I run Fedora 26 myself, and have to say getting it to work is a bit trail and error, the first few build runs you'll probably bump into missing packages, depending on the distro selected. In Redhat (derivatives), packages tend to be split in de normal and the devel packages, and you need to last one for header files etc. Most need manual installation.

No experience, I'm not a C programmer (anymore).

But the file is used in /lib/base/encoding.cpp.
