Well that's easily explained. The USB version is the stand-alone OpenPli, the multiboot allows you to install other images in flash. During boottime you are asked which inage you want to load. So much like a PC with partitioned hard drive. You can install Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows X, Red-Hat Linux and deside each time what your fancy is...
Met één been in het graf..... Helaas

Well that depends!

The last time I looked the Multiboot plugin (which fiddles with flash and images stored on a usb) didn't work for the HD51 because it uses the multiboot feature  supported by some images, so that the Emmc partitions are used to store upto 4 images.

e.g. I often have Vix, ATV and 2 test images installed, and flip between them when checking or testing some feature/issue.

Also the 1st zip contains a full emmc "disk" image, which wipes the whole emmc.

The 2nd contains only the kernel and root, allowing you to replace one of the emmc partitions without removing other images

The multiboot images are made explicitly for this setup. OpenPLi 6.1 will have the option in the menu to flash the box, without the need for a USB stick.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Ok grazie, all ok now. All clear.

Can I have the possility to install the Openpli 6.1 or I have to wait?

You have to wait, as it doesn't exist yet. We're busy with the last actions to create the release candidate for final testing.

Alternatively, you can build yourself a develop image, ;)

without the need for a USB stick.

Not fully true... When there is no hdd in the box you need a media (e.g. USB stick, SD card) to download/unpack the image.... and to store the autobackup/restore stuff... so after the flash your box can behave as before with all plugins re-installed and all your settings...

An external network drive like a NAS or hdd on another box will not help here... (as you only get access to it after the restore is done...)
