all right , i found a default samba.conf, but need to investigate with i can not see my box on windows network neighborood

Should already be part of 6.1-RC. So if you are using 6.1-RC, a simple "opkg install samba-base --force-reinstall" should give you the correct smb.conf.
that is correct now thanks WanWizard with opkg install samba-base --force-reinstall
i always opkg remove before reinstalling

Like i ever said it : when i have this problem with Samba, i flash another time and all return to normal.
Can you try to do this ?

That is a bit overdone I think. But to each their own, if it works for you? 
This is only an issue with old 6.1-rc installs, and for people (manually) restoring an old smb.conf (from 6.0). You can't restore older ones, as they are not compatible, Samba won't start with an smb.conf from OpenPLi 4.
New installs of 6.0-release and 6.1-rc are fine, they have this fix since mid november.
Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

zebulon7 reflash solved my problem so will work for you too but as WanWizard said its an overkill - unless you have a backup and do the same trick Ive done (took me few min to get all settings/plugins etc back the way I want them)

nah too much thing to resintall , conf , etc etc, and since im flashing always to a brand new final rev or RC , i prefer doing all by hand and know why its not working , i do not use samba at all or once per month , that is why i did not even check samba with 6.1 rc since today and asking myself why

No, if you use Autobackup, all your configuration will be saved and automatically restored just after the flash.

Which image exactly? Did you restore a backup?

That depends on your config.
If you flashed 6.1-rc with restore of a backup, you might have restored an incorrect config, possibly from 6.0 (which had this issue).
Login to the box using telnet or ssh, and issue these commands:
rm /etc/samba/smb.conf opkg update && opkg install samba-base --force-reinstall
This should restore the correct configuration.

I have had this problem since v6. I have three computers, one can see the VU Ultimo 4K, the other two can not see it unless I use DCC to access it.
All of my computers are running windows 10 64 bit, but the one that can see the VU is running the pro version of win 10 64 bit,
