When you want a black screen, just power-off the decoder.

I see a webif screenshot with picture...and some ODS screenshots with info... so I really don't understand 'black screen'...?

But I see you're using an VU Ultimo... (without 4K)... It should play AVC (MPEG2)...

I tend to go with Dimmie. If you want to have a black screen, turn off the TV? What is exactly the problem?

The AVC MPEG2 video codec does not work and the picture does not appear on the TV just on the computer

OpenWebIF screenshot  shows MPEG-4 AVC, shouldn´t be a problem, the problem could be a small symbol rate 1500KSymb/s, not all tuners can lock this

If the image can be streamed to VLC, the tuner has succesfully locked, so that can't be it either.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Yes, now I understand, this makes sense.

There is no such thing as "AVC MPEG2" video codec. It's either (MPEG4) AVC or MPEG2.

It can be very well that there are streams that can be played on your computer with software codecs that cannot be played by a set-top-box. A STB is designed for DVB, not for random media. So DVB streams it will play without problems, media not always.

There are quite a few properties of a stream or file that can make it non-DVB-compliant. Your computer may be able to play it, but the hardware decoder in the STB may not.

Yes, so I put screenshots showing the full information of the channel and it's supposed to work on the receiver
The problem is not one channel but all channels that work with the same codec
Fargo, if there is a solution that the team will correct in future issues

There are quite a bit more properties in a stream than the ones you found here. It can still be very well possible that the streams are not DVB compliant.

For information channels are working on the informal image Taapat OpenPLi-5
On another receiver it is less quality than the vuplus and also the image is not official from the openpli team
The receiver is a Spark STI 7111

Is this a multistream channel? At this moment there is no vu+ receiver available that can play them?

@Littlesat: multistream transponders won't give a LOCK when the tuner doesn't support them.

To what end non-compliance is worked around, will differ from vendor to vendor (and even within models or driver versions). Software decoders (like a player on your desktop) will play most everything. Hardware decoders such as in your STB are necessarily limited in to what end non compliance can be supported. That is a reason why there are standards and why streams need to be compliant to it, it's not for fun ;)

The only thing you can do is record the stream (that will be possible). There is a slight chance the recording can be played (even though the live stream cannot, try it, if it works, you can use timeshifting to watch, record and watch at the same time). If that also doesn't work, you will have to re-encode the stream to something DVB compliant before you watch it on your STB.
