Did you use AUTO on FEC?

There is no AUTO option.

You will need the AUTO option otherwise it won't work. If your receiver doesn't support AUTO FEC, you're out of luck.

I'll test it again maybe on sunday 'cause i'm on openatv today and i'll switch to egami tomorrow or saturday after that back to pli.

The Auto works fine with vuzero4k.

I am 100% sure it works fine also using other receivers with S2X tuners (since today all used the SI2166 tuner).

The Si2166D offers an on-chip blind scan algorithm for DVB-S/S2/S2X standards, as well as a blind lock function.

Blind Lock if I am not mistaken means, give the frequency (and SR) and I will lock for you, without having to specify all the little details like FEC, Pilot, etc.

He's talking of a Zgemma model. Maybe the driver doesn't offer auto FEC.

I think we always offer AUTO on UI.

Although we need to change the UI to automatically select AUTO when CAN_FEC_AUTO property exists (Also the same for CAN_INVERSION_AUTO, etc.)

Maybe when the tuner offers auto simply do not show the parameter at all... and when satellite.xml says something different replace it...

But we don't know if some "manufacturer" is lying.... (they might have CAN_FEC_AUTO, but tuner not really supports it)

So there are tuners like Broadcom ones, that fail to scan if you don't provide a proper FEC.

I am sure I saw "hack/workaround" recently on OpenATV Enigma2 regarding FEC.

Edit1. It's not FEC, it's inversion, https://github.com/o...4cea43e65e918d5 and they force AUTO!

So looks like Zero 4K drivers don't support multistream at all...

Good, so with any luck it should be fixed within the next 5 years.

And BTW, does that box have a blindscan binary available? Or is that also missing? Hardware is capable.

Did the other manufacturers support blindscan? Maybe Dreambox only.

So what others did all that time?

At least VU+ is experimenting on new technologies, and code is public.

I keep annoying Octagon about this. Earlier this year they told me that as soon as Kodi is finished they will start blindscan. Now they say they are focusing on other bugs first. I think by the time they get round to doing it the receiver will be in landfill.

So far no multistream tuner has it. And anyway as far as I understand it is not going to work on transponders with PLS.

Are you sure dreambox doesn't include a blindscan utility?

Regarding Kodi, I think we should BAN that word... So many resources wasted, giving back to our satellite hobby 0, nothing, null! ;)

BTW, all tuners are using PLS, they just use the default sequence gold 0. Some tuners have options to select other gold sequences (or root).

PS. I just learned above from a trusted source.

PPS. Patch for PLS on Linux will support only gold sequences, using a new property. I am working on this ;)

That is no secret, it's part of the DVB-S2 specification.

Vu + support is very disappointing, I am complaining for more than year regarding vu + duo2 symbol rate issue. But they not even reply to emails.
