I have come across lately users who claim they are watching legal IPTV on an enigma2 receiver, by adding the channels in a bouquet via a URL

So, I am wondering, because I always read that this was not supported by the proividers.

f.i.

I pay telekom slovenia IPTV subscrition and have it via udpxy on enigma 2 box. Nothing illegal here.

Also in Spain and in Greece there are users who claim the same (both via Vodafone).

Can somebody shed some light on this matter pls.

Willy

In some cases it is not sold as such, but technically possible, if the provider supplies an unencrypted stream but authenticated. Some cable and DSL providers do that, via a second VLAN on the connection.

The Proximus BBox is (or at least used to be) an example. Challenge is usually to find the correct stream URL's, and to get hold of the credentials.

If the IPTV provider is an internet provider (so not via a private provider VLAN but via the open internet), my 2ct's say it is always going to be illegal.

In Greece Vodafone TV (ex HOL TV) is indeed IPTV provider.

But you have to use their proprietary IPTV box (Motorola VIP1002 or Cisco).

AFAIK for Vodafone TV, there is a way to use it with Enigma2.

So I would like to know how is that possible with udpxy too!

udpxy converts udp multicast streams to http, which is something Enigma understands.

So you need the correct config, or info on what the provider is broadcasting, and you need network access to the providers multicast system, which is usually in a separate VLAN (separate from your internet uplink, and using RFC 1918 adresses).

Yeah, that's right, you need to join a multicast stream, done that before.

But stream on Vodafone TV is scrambled.

So it's not only the udpxy alone. Maybe they switched to clear since last time I checked.

so you have a legal IPTV subscription with matching hardware, which you then abuse to reroute the signals to your enigma2 box

I don't think those providers will be satisfied with this method, should they ever find out.

That's the everlasting run between provider and consumer... But if someone manages to get the stream he legally is entitled to into his open receiver and make it work, I'd say chapeau, well done. That's not illegal. But close to 100% of similar requests are of illegal nature.

In France the provider called Free allows its end-users to watch stream behind there provided box in IPTV. But this is purely local stream.

About BBox (Proximus formerly Belgacom) now there is no more 2 VLANs, TV and Internet are mixed up, but it is not possible to watch stream on the LAN. It was possible at the very beginning but now all the channels are scrambled.

In Switzerland we also have the possibility to watch the NON-Pay TV Channels like this.
Can someone explain me how I get UDPxy plugin ? I do not see it in the OpenPLI plugin list.
Furthermore how to configure it to have the rtp streams with Enigma ?
Thanks in advance.

OK.  It seems that there are legal ways to obtain IPTV on an enigma2 receiver in certain circumstances.

Providers may not like it, but that is another discussion. (Just as they do not like the use of Oscam). I am old enough to remember that telephone companies only allowed their rented devices.

If we had their way, we would still be using these antique rotary dial devices.

Why you are providing plugin from external sources? We have it in our feeds.

Can a moderator delete the link to plugin please?

Why you are providing link from newnigma? Are you on newnigma forum? Are you using newnigma?

The correct answer is to use the feeds, OpenPLi feeds.

If you are using OpenPli you should provide the correct ipk for / from PLi feeds.

Install it using the following command.

opkg update
opkg install udpxy

Wavefield T90: 0.8W - 1.9E - 4.8E - 13E - 16E - 19.2E - 23.5E - 26E - 33E - 39E - 42E - 45E on EMP Centauri DiseqC 16/1

I install it using the command explained above and in my userbouquet the line ist like that :

#SERVICE 1:0:19:4333:300C:13E:820000:0:0:0:udp%3a239.186.68.3%3a10000:RTS un HD
#DESCRIPTION RTS un HD

But it doesn't work (black screen).

What is wrong in my script ?

Do I have to modify things in  "/usr/bin" + in "init.d" ?

thanks for your help.

The correct syntax is http not udp.

See an example here: http://www.satnigmo....gma-2-bouquets/

Please use default port 4022.

(The udp syntax comes from closed DMM enigma2)
