Hi,


New version of dab sdgradio.

It will now use AAC/MPEG and faad decoder on gstreamer side, in order to reduce cpu load, gstreamer seems faster.
Although when audio dropouts occurs, it doesn't recover, again

It uses software AGC from welle.io
It has less debugging on output
It handles the programType

The ppmoffset is very useful if stick doesn't tune (eg we are getting very high offsets in program output).

There is no config screen yet, but you can enter it manually in /etc/enigma2/settings (init 4 first..)
 

config.sdgradio.ppmoffset=25

Above will set ppmoffset to 25. You can find ppmoffset using rtl_test -p or even better using kalibrate.


The program still uses lot of CPU! Most probably the demodulation part.

I finally got DAB sound but it sounds a little 'slow/low'

Is it possible that I use wrong sample-rates, and if so, how/where can I edit those settings?

What command line are you using?

I use the plugin and 'config.sdgradio.ppmoffset=35'

The last version uses this cmd:

dab-rtlsdr-sdgradio -C FREQ -W30 -Q -p PPM | gst-launch-1.0 fdsrc ! queue ! faad ! dvbaudiosink

So faad converts to PCM before send out to dvbaudiosink.

Check also the cpu load, it seems that dab-rtlsdr-sdgradio requires really a lot of cpu.

Is it a DAB or DAB+?

Maybe faad has issue with raw MPEG used on DAB?

I can compile again using PCM output, but seems to consume more "cpu".

It's a DAB+ signal, DAB is not available anymore in the Netherlands.

 

the cpu load is about 35%

 

This is my 'top' output for dab-rtlsdr

If someone wants to use FHD format plugin 1920 x 1080

 

Warning You must use in image same FHD format skin

1920 x 1080

 

Replace orginal (Overwrite) plugin files with files in my zip.

( /usr/lib/enigma2/python/Plugins/Extensions/SDGRadio/ )

Restart.

Hi,

In order to test both PCM and AAC/MPEG the SDGRadio plugin changed to support configuring the PPM and PCM (default false).

When you are making changes you need to retune (eg close plugin and reopen).

Please note that both dab-cmdline-sdgradio-pcm and dab-cmdline-sdgradio required (actually plugin has proper depends).

Both versions working for me.

 

Now is the difference in processor load low (PCM and FAAD)

The PCM version has radiotext in skin and Log.

Perhaps the audio slightly better with PCM

but I'm not sure ???

It seems to me that switching from a radio station is faster with PCM.

If you using FHD skin 1920 x 1080 

and you like last plugin in FHD format 1920 x 1080

 

replace all flles in plugin and restart

Working nice with my RTL-SDR 

Again Im using Nooelec RTL SDR with freq temp stabilization

(no need for ppm corections)

Antenna a piece of Wire outside the window .

Dipol 2 x 36 cm .

145 : f = total length in meters

example

145 : 196 Mhz = 0.74 meters
