Skin Ultra HD (4k - UHD) for OpenPLi impossible?

- Ultra HD Glass 18 (UHDG18) IS ULTRA HD NATIVE SKIN SO BEFORE INSTALLING PLEASE
CHECK IF YOUR CURRENT IMAGE SUPPORTS ULTRA HD SKINS
- UHDG18 is independent skin and can be used simultaneously with HDG16 and FHDG17
- test was provided on hw: dm820, dm900, dm920 with latest DMM exp. image(OE2.5
including latest updates)
- before activating skin set in "setup - picture and sound - animations"
disable animation (enable animations give image with any UHD skin unstable)

ipk version is and will be still unpublic because do not exists image with support OSD/skin in Ultra HD mode and please, do not ask about publishing of ipk version

Not really related to OpenPLi. The hardware (= the driver) must support an UHD OSD layer. Afaik none of the supported boxes do that.


Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Pro (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

What are the advantages and disadvantages of such a skin ?

Does that make some great improvement or not ?
Does this have a major negative effect on image and performance ?
That's the main question.
Even if we had support within the images.
 
My opinion
the quality of so called FHD skins 1920 x 1080  is more than satisfying in relation
on TV video material including 4K.
 
 
4K skins That means everything has to be changed
from image to addons and skins.
 
Taking into account in quite a big impact on the overall performance.

It is declared to be a supported receiver.

I doubt it, given the fact it's an entry-level box.

Make no sense as no box offers a 4K osd layer as far know
