I proceeded to update the version of tonight tonight and the decoder went into tilt.

I flopped directly with version 6.1 but as soon as it gets updated it goes into crack

Have you wait long enough after restart, the STB gives the impression to be blocked but I think that 1st start takes a longer time.

If you have a receiver that can't project it's console onto the screen, it might appear stuck, but if you login using telnet, you'll see it updating.

On a slow box like the H2H and/or with a slow internet connection, it can easlily take 10-15 minutes before something happens.

If you want to follow what it is doing, login and type:

tail -f ~/ipkgupgrade.log

Adding a progress bar for this process is on the todo list, so you can see it's busy ;)

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Maybe you're right, but look, I have a fast connection, I have a 100 Mega Hyper Fiber

Just tested on Zgemma H2H

Updating from release 6 to 6.1 works just fine.

Yup, which is why I wrote "and/or". ;) If you have a fast box, but have to download 400+ packages over a 2Mbps ADSL link, it will still take long. ;)

In these cases, flashing might be quicker.

At 20Mbps it took me about 3 minutes only to update from 6.0 to 6.1.

Just do the software update option without warning. Wait 3 minutes and the box restarts itself and works. No problem at all.
