I'm looking for a source were I can find a VPS plugin that works with OpenPli 4. My box is an Xtrend 9200.

Any hints?

Whats this VPS plugin about.
Video Program System is code to channel bound so it would be difficult to translate code to usefull data because user build there own bouquets.

Hi, VPS = Video Programming System which was popular in the 90th on cable. This system could correct changed start/end times of scheduled recordings. On cable it was a real separate signal which worked perfect most of the time.On sat there is no VPS signal but I think the plugin monitors EPG changes and adapts the schedule when there are changes. ciao

There is definitely a VPS "signal" on both analog and digital delivery systems. The only difference is that on an analog service, the signal is multiplexed into the vertical blanking interval, adjacent to teletext information, while on a digital service the information is multiplexed into the transport stream as a separate metadata pid.

let´s say the provider can provide correct information similar to VPS if he wants to but almost no provider does.

That's absolutely true. But it has nothing to do with the technical implementation.
