Indeed the format should be right so the algothythms knows the image is for the proper box

downloaded_images?

I'm afraid I cannot see that.

If you have downloaded and flashed using that stick or disk before, you see an additional option in that screen, with the images you have downloaded previously.

Currently in use: VU+ Duo 4K (2xFBC S2), VU+ Solo 4K (1xFBC S2), uClan Usytm 4K Ultimate (S2+T2), Octagon SF8008 (S2+T2), Zgemma H9.2H (S2+T2)

Due to my bad health, I will not be very active at times and may be slow to respond. I will not read the forum or PM on a regular basis.

Many answers to your question can be found in our new and improved wiki.

Is it possible to make a complete copy of Slot1 or all Slots, which I would then copy to another HD51 or just use on this box if something happened to the image.

Both OpenATV and OpenViX can build a USB flashable zip containing the active image - not aware of any OpenPli facility to do this ... but obviously if you backup all your settings/plugins (to a device that can be accessed later) you can use the OpenPli qick restore mechanism at boot time..

If you use the USB flashable zip, then the active image is in slot 1

Thanks.

So currently it is not possible to "clone" complete Slot1 and put it on another box using OpenPLi?

Then Autobackup is the only solution following flashing a new image.

The ofgwrite tool (and therefor also the ui) cannot copy images yet between the slots... but it should be alternatively possible to create a full backup and flash that in a different slot...

Just a quick question.

OpenPLi in slot 1, other images in other slots.

What if it turns out one of the other images has the Multiboot option removed?

Is there a way to boot OpenPLi in slot 1? Perhaps using some telnet commands?

Shutdown the box. Remove usb sticks. Press and hold power button several seconds. 1. image will boot.

ANother way is to install a usb stick with the following files and reboot.
A text file sysinit.txt containing batch usbdisk0:STARTUP
And the STARTUP file edited to boot to the correct slot.

Only if sometimes you want to start afresh (or perhaps sell the receiver) and you have a receiver where the usb flash doesn‘t clean out all the slots, or you are testing and just want to remove an image - its an instant delete compared to a flash that takes time.

I take the thread to ask ...

I have an mmc image, where I flash with ofgwrite .... this image lacks splash.bin .... can you manually attach in the machine folder so that ofgwrite writes the splash?

No. Ofgwrite don’t write splash. You need to flash via USB.

When all image builders left the splash rest in peace... the is no requirement to flash the splash at all....
