Hi Persian, look:

WARNING: xz-native-5.2.3-r0 do_fetch: Failed to fetch URL http://tukaani.org/xz/xz-5.2.3.tar.gz, attempting MIRRORS if available
WARNING: mpfr-native-3.1.5-r0 do_fetch: Failed to fetch URL http://www.mpfr.org/...fr-3.1.5.tar.xz, attempting MIRRORS if available

Don't lose hope when an URL is not reachable and simply search for the file using google:

https://github.com/x...e/v5.2.3.tar.gz

https://ftp.gnu.org/...fr-3.1.5.tar.xz

Here is what I do when an URL is unreachable:

1- I do search for it :)
2- Downloading it inside Microsoft Windows using IDM (Internet Download Manager) which is a lot faster than any other download tool, wget sucks!
3- Transfer it to the "sources" directory
4- Touch an empty file with the same name but with "done" extension, For example "PP.tar.gz" and "PP.tar.gz.done"

;)

Is there a way to build an image for an et10k with kernel 4.10.6 with the drivers of 14-03-2017?

Because the PLi team will never officially support the new updated drivers, which are working well, I can at least try to build this image myself.

Hi,

Since people keep asking me how to build OpenPLi for non-supported receivers such as the Dreambox DM800 or Spark receiver, I've came up with an easy to use add-on.

The pli-extras module, is an unsupported, unofficial (and likely to break) addon for allowing you to compile homebuild images for your receiver.

This is the list we support so far:

Dreambox:
  • DM7020HD
  • DM7020HD V2
  • DM7080
  • DM800
  • DM800Se
  • DM800Se V2
  • DM8000
  • DM500HD
  • DM500HD V2
  • DM520
  • DM820
  • DM900
  • DM920
Fulan (spark):
  • Spark7111
  • Spark7162
Raspberry Pi:
  • Pi 1
  • Pi 2
  • Pi 3
  • Pi 3 (64bit)
  • Pi Zero
INI:
  • Atemio6000
  • Atemio6100
  • Atemio6200
  • Atemio Nemesis
  • Beyonwiz T2
  • Beyonwiz T3
  • Bwidow X2
  • Herobox EX4 HD
  • MB Hybrid
  • MB Mini Plus
  • Opticumtt
  • Xsolo Mini 3

Steps to build:

1. Clone openpli-oe-core somewhere:

git clone https://github.com/OpenPLi/openpli-oe-core.git
2. Enter the openpli-oe-core directory:
cd openpli-oe-core
3. Clone pli-extras:
git clone https://github.com/PLi-metas/pli-extras.git
4. Initialize and update all repositories:
pli-extras/update.sh
5. Build for your favourite machine:
cd build
source env.source
MACHINE=dm800 bitbake openpli-enigma2-image
6. Optional build the feed for your favourite machine:
MACHINE=dm800 bitbake openpli-enigma2-feed

Note: Each time you run the command from step 4, all git repositories will get updated to their latest versions (getting bugfixes etc..)

Very possible. But not here. We do not allow alternative images for boxes we support on this forum!

I wish you really supported this box.

So MastaG can build an alternative image for a dm7080 ( :)) but he <can't|not allowed to> build a normal working image for an et10k (with the latest drivers) because you are "supporting" this box?

There is no official PLi image for dm7080 so our compiled image is not an alternative, alternative to what?

Also our compiled images won't receive any support or online feeds so just test images nothing more, There is no proper enigma2 remote support, Open WebIF support ...

People could just compile a test image and enjoy a little then ask companies to support PLi and see benefits all together.

You can fork PLi's OE and change et10k recipes then compile a new test image and use it at your own risk but why should we maintain something that already is there?

The only exception is dm8000 that we have it because PLi still has the meta-dream which I hope they let go as dreambox won't provide any kind of support and let us handle it :)

We need to delete PLi's meta-dream as it has confilicts with ours ;)

Built PLi for a TM NanoSE M2. Many Thanks.

Where do we change the background message about "not genuine" to "not official"

Can we pre-install packages? This could negate the need to have feeds.

It's a correct message as PLi didn't provide you this image ;)

You can pre-install anything you want just create a "openpli-enigma2-image.bbappend" file like https://github.com/P...-image.bbappend and use

IMAGE_INSTALL_append = " \
	your-desired-package-name \
	"

Off coarse it is possible to build an image with the latest drivers, I did it myself a few months ago for my ET8000, but it will not be supported or maintained by OpenPLi

As we've already mentioned several times before, not because we don't want to, but because the supplier doesn't respond to our questions, it is their job to maintain the BSP, not ours, so if they update the BSP, the image with the latest drivers will be build automatically.
